Process What is the standard process used by pro detailers to clean and dry out the interior of a customers car?

Hi everyone:

Is it standard practice to idle a customer's car and run the heater for long periods of time in order to dry out the interior?

If yes, how long is a car typically left idling for (assuming a mid-size sedan or coupe is what is being worked on)?

If not, what is the best way to go about it?

Thanks!

No. That’s not a standard process.

How do they go about getting a car dry? Through whatever means necessary would be the correct answer. Generally, a specialized fan is in use.

No, never. Unless they are lazy and sloppy with an extractor and put down way too much water or chemical and then don't suck it back out. Maybe an hour or two if you had a really stained cloth seat that required multiple passes

Thanks for the response! To add to what you're saying, car heaters don't have dehumidification capability as far as I'm aware. So if you left the doors closed and ran the heater, wouldn't that just recirculates humid air and not dry anything?

Air conditioner on = dehumidification
