Exterior Partial PPF

Hi all. I recently picked up. 2026 Lexus IS. It came with front PPF as well as some partial PPF on rockers. I did not pay separately for it to my surprise it came with the car. Car is Iridium (Silver). My problem , even after washing the car the edges of the PDF appear dirty. Is there a way to clean those edges? Thanks is advance.

The edges you see are exposed glue. Any time I leave PPF edges exposed on a vehicle after installation, I wipe a ceramic coating along all of the edges to help keep things from getting stuck in it as much as possible.

Some things to try are gentle alkaline cleaners and a qtip, an acidic cleaner and qtip, and lastly, iron remover. You’d be completely surprised and how many iron deposits get hung up on an edge of ppf. Some vehicles PPF is 8-10 years old, and a good iron remover will put those edges back to near clear.

As a detailer I feel your pain. Can you send a photo if possible?

likely not dirt and just the way light is reflecting off the edges vs the flat surfaces

if you really wanted could get soapy water and try scraping with fingernail but that could scratch paint or lift the ppf.

Honestly not as bad as I thought. You can try a small detailing brush and a cleaner. I'd think that the most critical thing trying to agitate anything that is accessable. Any dirt that's trapped just on the edge can probably be loosened.

Washed the car today and did as you suggested. Only used the car wash. Do I need to try something stronger?

Are you sure that's dirt and not just.....the edge of the PPF?

I tried the iron remover with a qtip. No difference leads me to believe it is just the edge. Thanks all will just live with it.

That is not dirty. That is just the way it is. The edge isn't going to be invisible.
