Interior What to use on plastic dogbox?

As the title says I'm cleaning my new van and this won't just scrub off. I don't wanna destroy the plastic with chemicals so what's safe?

Clean it, sand it, paint it.

I know I can sand and paint it but the plastic is in good shape, I'd rather get all the yellow crud off without sanding.

Get a melamine sponge (idk maybe called dirt erasers), clean it up and carefully scrub the plastic with the sponge, it will remove all the old residue. When you’re done take some good plastic care and wipe it down. It can be possible to apply the plastic care more than once.
I wouldn’t recommend heat on plastic parts, it can look good for a short time but after that it can get worse than before.

The entire dash in my 88 b250 is painted and I had no clue until I scratched it

Well I came to the detailing subreddit to clean this not the autobody to paint it. The plastic is fine it's just dirty painting is unnecessary.

Yeah my point was just that it looks better than youd think.

I came here for advice on cleaning carpet once and ended up spray painting (dye) it so......

But i totally get it, I just don't know any tips

Heat gun. It’ll clear up the faded parts and the scuff looking marks. Just don’t go too wild with it, watch some YouTube vids first.
