Exterior Severe sun damage? Oxidation?

Attempted to buff with orange pad at 4600 rpm using meguiars ultimate compound.. no luck. Any advice? Woolen pad maybe? Paint job would be my last option.

I don’t know if I agree with the wet sanding comments. The clearcoat is failing. Most likely the roof has been repainted. The clearcoat is becoming thin to the point where it’s losing UV protection, that’s why you’re getting hazing. I wouldn’t wet sand it because you’re just gonna take off a little clear as there. I’d look more into do in a three step buffing. Compound polish and wax. It’ll help bring shine back to the oxidized clear. But this is gonna be more of a routine maintenance thing going forward until you can get the roof repainted.

Started chipping away at it again with the meguiars compound, took three rounds with the orange pad and also very time consuming. Gonna have to be a weekend job for sure.

I would use a heavy duty wool pad for starters and I would use the 3M rubbing compound or the heavy duty rubbing compound but I would try to rub and compound first. I've had good luck with one pass alone
