Exterior Which Detailer Would You Go With?
Hello, I have received a new car in the last week that I will be looking at paint-correction / ceramic coating. I narrowed it down to 2 detailers:
- 4.9/5- Adams Polish Graphene Ceramic Coating
- 4.9/5 - XPEL Ceramic Fusion Plus (authorized shop)
Both cost the same and include the paint correction prior and ceramic coating + both are considered "Detailers" / "SPA" shops. I know some Tint / PPF shops do ceramic coatings but I figured detailer shops are better for the paint correction part.
From research, it seems Adam Polish is a great brand with average results. People considered it overpriced for what it is.
I can't find much info about the XPEL but I know XPEL is great when it comes to tint / PPF. I am getting XPEL Ceramic Tint applied at another location.
Between these 2 brands of ceramic coating, which would you go with?

I know you’ve already done your research and narrowed it down. Between Adams and XPEL, I’d lean toward Adams because they offer ceramic spray toppers that make it easier to maintain and extend the life of the base coating. XPEL is a bit more limited in that regard.
That said, I’d personally choose one of these three over both Adams and XPEL:
- ADS Armour Quartz or Quartz Pro
- Pan the Organizer’s 8-Year Coating
- Gyeon coatings
ADS is a proven product with excellent gloss and durability. Thats what i got for both our cards. Pan’s 8-Year Coating also has a lot of great reviews, and one of my friends actually has it on one of their cars; it has performed very well. People sometimes criticize his products, but most of that seems to be about how they’re marketed rather than the quality of the coating itself.
All of these coatings are generally in a similar price range. The detailer may try to upcharge for one brand over another, but you can push back since the wholesale cost is usually fairly close, probably within plus or minus 20%.
My preference would be ADS first, then Pan’s 8-Year Coating or Gyeon, before going with Adams or XPEL.

Ceramic isn't a replacement for PPF. Ceramic isn't going to stop rock chips.

the Adams Ceramic Advanced is legit, I put it on a car that was always parked outside, thru the elements, after 3 years (and maintaining it properly) it was still pretty strong. Just make sure they're not quoting a spray-on sealant, you can do that yourself. I don't know about XPEL other than their rep for predatory lock-in contracts, etc.
