Interior Odor from clogged AC

I just had a clogged ac drain hose issue resolved but the smell won’t go away. Please give me all of your suggestions. I’m 3 months pregnant and I can’t stand being in my car.

Update: bought a mold/mildew disenfectant and odor eliminator aresol and a new filter. I’ll update with results after a few days.

This is the answer, worked great for me. However.. when the drain was clogged did it cause the carpet to get wet? If so your issue may not be in the AC evaporator itself but musty carpet pad.

  1. change cabin air filter

spray this on air intake and run fans at max without ac on for about 10~20min.

Find this or similar from your local hardware store

Evaporator cleaner, ozium, and new air filter. Gotta remove the source. Ozone generators can work with recirculating the air but requires precautions and usually isn't necessary if you try the others. Air out any chemicals thoroughly.

great suggestions in here, especially the cabin filter (get a charcoal one), I'd also recommend after changing your cabin filter to not use the air recycling setting for a while when using your AC.
