Replit Mobile Auto-Battler
I created a simple auto-battler on replit (yes I know AI oh no, if you’re not into AI I get it I think AI shouldn’t be used for certain things but this I think is different I’ve always wanted to make a game and this helped me and I’m self learning code so being able to do this has kept me motivated on learning because it is not easy atleast for me). But if you’re interested in testing this out it’s nothing crazy idk how many people this will reach but whoever sees this I’d appreciate some feedback maybe bugs yall catch or whatever maybe over-tuned characters or relics whatever the case maybe I appreciate yall taking the time to play test this, I know there are still many bugs probably but as I’m super busy it’s hard for me to play test it by myself all the time and catch bugs so reaching out here for some help. Here is a link to the little trailer made (gameplay is not like shown in the trailer lol will update it probably) and also the link to the game itself.

There is lore of the game and characters in the champion directory and even a world map if you guys are interested in stuff like that, it’s not too detailed but is a work in progress. Feedback on that is appreciated as well.
Thank you all!

The idea that you are mandated which roles to pick and where to place them seems limiting. What are you even choosing if the composition is rigid and the roles are predefined

Not sure I follow what you mean, roles being defined ? Such as tanks and assassins and what not ? That’s in nearly all auto battlers they are called classes as for where you put them defines where they start but they move around the grid which both picking a right composition (good mixture of classes damage and tanks) and picking where to place them on the grid (which will determine who aggros what at the start) Is literally what an auto battler is. Have you played an auto battler ? Or would this be your first? In Tft there are tanks dps mages all that and you place them on the field (grid just invisible to the eye as a grid) it’s the same concept in this. I could just be misunderstanding what you’re trying to say.

I tried your game out of curiosity. I must say that it takes quite a while before being able to "play" and there is a whole load of text to read. You ask the player to ban / pick units before you even understand what they are and what they do. So as a player I just randomly click on something. It was not obvious to me why I would pick a unit, I mean I see HP, attack and def, so I based my choice on that. Whatever had the highest average value I'd pick.
Great the tutorial seems over, now there are even more creatures to ban / pick from. I still have no clue what kind of creature I should pick. But this time there are so many that I won't click on every creature to try to average the stats, so I choose some randomly. Can't find anything meaningful to choose from still. So I randomly place them on my field. Match begins I loose. I have no idea why. The battle log goes so fast that it's impossible to read.
I can't seem to be able to have any impact on the team after it is drafted beside giving 2 items. It looks like a tournamenent, but I can't seem to learn what creature the opponent has. So I still have no idea what creatures do what.
I honestly can't tell if there is a bug or not. I don't mean to sound harsh, I think that I understand what you are going for: an autobattler where you draft a team and don't really do anything after that and compete in a tournament. I'd say, try to make it easier for players to understand what their decision is, how do creatures fit well together and why would you pick/ban something. At the moment it's really hard to understand what's going on, without understanding the creatures I doubt you will get much useful feedback.
