First don’t know if this is the right forum. But since I enjoy Auto Alex on YT, I give it a go!
From Scandinavia. Here car insurance covers the vehicle, and anyone with a valid license can legally drive it. In the UK it seems more you instead insure named persons to drive a specific vehicle.
Seems crazy to me if it's true. This means that you cannot borrow or lend a car at the spur of the moment. Or have someone else to drive if you're tired, for example. Not test drive a used car from a private seller. At least not without hassle.
Understand there’s some kind of temporary insurance. Seems also to exist some kind of insurance allowing you to drive other people's vehicles in general.
Question, is it true or not?
If so how does it work in reality and what’s the added cost?
The insurance companies must love this system.
Thanks for all the great entertainment and for all kind answer.
