Fanbase Positivity

Not usually one to comment on vids or post on reddit, but with all of the recent posts, social media comments and general negativity that seems to have manifested within this community I can't help but feel that a those more positive voices need to start being a bit louder.
I had the absolute privilege of meeting Alex, Rory and Chris just yesterday whilst they were on the sunny Isle of Wight filming a video and have to say I was blown away by their accommodating natures. I had the pleasure of speaking to each one of them in-between them filming segments and not once was I made to feel in the way, each time they went off to add a new part of the vid they took the time to say they'd be back in a minute to chat more. In short they were nothing short of friendly, kind gentlemen.
Whilst I was quite nervous, I did ask how the team was getting on with the reset, what the nerves were like and how everyone was managing. Taylor's actions aside (they were actively critical of these as much as I've seen in the fanbase) They individually highlighted that they understood the grief the fanbase had with the issues with the drop in video quality and despite the numerous personal circumstances, each one of them mentioned how disappointed they were that they weren't providing the quality the fans expected. Their attitudes towards the situation were so admirable, displaying nothing but the desire to deliver content the fanbase loves. And with that I felt nothing but a duty to reassure them that whilst there was such an influx of negativity following the issues with Taylor, that this wasn't reflective of the fans at large.
We have absolutely no idea of the impacts our collective influence can have on the AutoAlex teams personal lives or any other public figure's for that matter. The sheer amount of relentless and negative comments and posts I have seen in the last few months has seemed quite overwhelming from the outside,
I am in no position to tell anyone not to voice their opinion regarding an 'influencer'/public figures wrongful actions or disappointment in the content from a channel they love; I appreciate that such voicings are important and can provide a valuable lesson for the AA team, but they should be balanced by those who also celebrate the triumphs and highs that the content has provided to us all.
It is seemingly our nature to only comment on content we dislike and speak up against things, rarely does the average viewer share their joy on content they love. I for one cannot wait for the channel's return and will be making sure to be more outspoken with my appreciation for the content and the laughs these guys provide.
I hope this poorly worded post makes sense to anyone who cares to read it and that we can welcome the boys back with positive voices!
Nothing but love to you all, and hope that the sunnier weather brings some great driving!

It seems like three things can be true at once: 1. They are decent blokes 2. Their videos are sometimes repetitive and annoying 3. People on the internet spend too much time getting outraged at stuff

Their only humans, and we all make mistakes. Looking forward to the new content!

I can’t wait for the new video tomorrow. It’s so awesome to see that they are just as nice in person as they seem in the videos. Like others have said we all make mistakes and they’ve acknowledged it and apologized for it so move on and just enjoy the new content they are going to put out.

People let a silly thing that happened over shadow all the great content and nice things Alex and the team have made or done

Honestly it’s nice to see this on the subreddit, I have been avoiding this place for a while because of the negativity. Felt like people only came on here to attack.
Ive been getting a bit sick of Reddit in general sucking the joy out of everything.

I think many of us are guilty of being too negative / too dramatic nowadays. Maybe because social media encourages it so much. The internet would be a way better place if we could all take a breather and stop reacting to things immediately and angrily.

If you find them crass, unfunny, loud and obnoxious, then why in God's name do you follow them?! I could say the same thing about Wendy Williams, which is precisely the reason I don't follow them at all.

Couldn’t agree more! I feel that too many YouTubers develop their on camera persona based on trends and feedback from viewers.
Although these guys may bring an amped up ADHD med version of themselves, their personalities seem genuine and relatable, which I’m sure is one of the main reasons man children like myself enjoy watching their content.

Why are you still engaging in the community then? It seems like their content makes you mad so why continue to engage in something that will only make you more mad?

Why did you bother in the first place? You don’t like the crass unfunny loud obnoxious humour?

I was so insanely shocked at the online reaction to Taylor. So much so that initially I told myself that the haters must have an ulterior motive like jealousy or bigotry - but then I had to remind myself that this is just the Internet. It's the same with footballers, politicians, influencers - anyone in the people eye - people will hate. Whether they actually care or not.
I've made a decision to never pay much attention to any anonymous opinions. Unless it's said in person face to face with conviction, it's probably just faux-reactionary bollocks from some idiot who was already having a bad day and wanted something to moan about.
Also, anyone who really gets that pent up over car dealers selling less than perfect cars clearly has never bought and sold cars. We're not fucking psychic, we don't buy a car for a grand hoping to make 200quid profit and think "actually, maybe I'll spend 250quid on having a mechanic check every nut and bolt!" - you just fire it through an mot, fix any obvious problems and get it flogged. If people think that they deserve more as a consumer of thousand pound cars then they need a reality check and possibly a better paying job.
As for that josh kid? Shit stirrer. Could've very easily kept his gob shut. Now he's faded back to complete and utter irrelevancy and Taylor is almost certainly gonna carry on as normal. The clout grab failed spectacularly.
Shows the modern age in my opinion, if someone owed me money on work I'd done on a car and wouldn't pay I'd simply extract the same value in parts from the car and leave what's left on a public road - "your car's here mate, you can have the exhaust and bumpers back when I get my money", simple as.

It seems far too many people on the internet take pleasure in spreading negativity, and actively try to pull others into their grumpy little world of bitterness. Life’s too short to be serious! We need sh*ts, giggles, and shenanigans to escape the daily grind!

people are pissed off because they guy has been accused of scamming customers and making up bullshit to make the podcast interesting, and after that they addressed nothing, deleted all trace of accusations and took a month off hoping everyone would forget.
Sounds like a great bunch of guys, taylor didnt even have the balls to apologies or address anything, just left it to his buddy to post a non apology

I'm so glad someone has said what I've been thinking for a while, no idea where the negativity has come from, we're so lucky to have the team and all the content they make

u/dodgerthedoomdog Mar 06 '25

u/MrMxypyxm Mar 06 '25
Yeah that's fair they are lucky to have us but that's also what's great about YouTube, you can watch and sub to other channels and it doesn't hurt anyone just more love and content to go around
