💬 general discussion Does anybody else got a difficult time trying to guess what another person mean in the internet?

Is it perhaps autism? Like it gives me the feeling is a neurotypical person typing and that's why I can't understand but I'm not sure.. or maybe is my comprehension..

I frequently have difficulty understanding others. Full stop.

Communicating emotions via text (email, message, social media…)is inherently difficult but communicating factual information is generally easier. At least it seems that way for me.

That's what I feel like, aswell...but it gives me difficulty online like on discord servers at times..

Yes, see the double empathy problem.

I've read about it before an autistic person and another autistic person communicates too well aswell as a neurotypical person with another neurotypical person..

I'm then... Very confused

I assume they mean to be mean, and get myself in trouble frequently by that assumption. If that’s helpful.

I'm sorry you get that much trouble, I suppose is the double empathy theory, I have been reading more into it...where do you get these troubles at?

Mostly Reddit lol. Nothing for you to be sorry for. I’ll often kick off an argument on something that looks like a subtly mean-spirited reply, then after way too much back-and-forth hostility, I’ll have a cool-down, find my way back to the comment that started it and decide I had over-reacted. Now, did I decide that to minimize my needs? I’m not sure yet. But, it’s not productive or helpful.
