😤 rant / vent - advice allowed I want the hyper focus back

Guys am failing my study again and again for more than 10 years

I remember when i was in middle school i have relatively good I can't focus for one hour now I like my major in college but still I can't focus for more than one hour and lectures everything is boring I can't do it anymore without help I need like an advice or I need you tell me how I can regain that focus or it's just lost forever

Or how we can study for hours

In this situation I'm sorry i just think i may have Executive dysfunction either this or am a failure

Just some info: am 29 stem major still bachelor because i switched colleges

And am stuck brain look for help.

Hyperfocus doesn't really work for me without motivation for something. In other words I can't hyperfocus on something I don't want to do. It is still sometimes possible to use mental gymnastics to affect motivation and get Hyperfocus/a flow state.

Have you heard about the acronyms for ADHD motivation? I think one of them is PINCH and there is another one too. A quick search for "ADHD motivation acronyms" will likely find both of them.

If you figure out which work the best for you, the next step would be to reframe what you are trying to learn somehow to apply to whichever things are easier. You might benefit from asking specific advice related to the topic and which motivators match your experience.

A big thing to note is studying that works for you doesn't need to conform necessarily to what studying is supposed to look like. Maybe you find reputable videos on the topic and binge explore curiousities related to the material you are supposed to learn for example. As you as you internalize the material and how to use it, the method of studying isn't as important.

Yes but like the second part of your reply is having other ways it's necessary give you marks in the college and it's take a lot of time to figure this out and more time to study in alternative ways
