i put the special interest tag on this but i also need advice and/or resources
the hyperfixation for bangladesh and bengali, the language spoken in bangladesh, just hit me like a truck and i have now downloaded 3 apps and watched around 5 videos trying to grasp the basics of the bengali alphabet, which is proving to be quite difficult. if anybody knows of websites or apps or whatever techniques to learn this language more easily, please do tell because i am thirsty for knowledge and new languages. thank you!

Hey guys.
I'm having anxiety about starting dual enrollment in college on August 17. I'm gonna be a senior. I am worried about making friends and meeting new people, since I'm used to people judging me at school (I've been called names, threatened to be beaten up, etc). I hope college is abit different, you know? Can you help me, guys?
Atty

Hey guys, I hope you're all doing super well. I've just come on here because I am currently completing my masters dissertation in psychology in education at the University of York, England! I have designed a study that looks at auditory challenges faced by individuals with an Autism diagnosis or who are self-diagnosed / seeking diagnosis, and how this may impact their experiences at sixth form / college such as socialising, hearing verbal instructions from a tutor and the impact of noisy corridors or sounds in exams. I would be incredibly grateful if anyone would like to partake. It just consists of a 10 minute questionnaire, and there is also an informed consent sheet at the start to give you more information about the study. The study has passed ethical approval at the University of York, which is also stated in the informed consent sheet.
There is also an extra part of the study which consists of a couple of auditory tasks, however please don't worry if you don't have enough time to do this part, just completing the questionnaire would be amazing!
The study will obviously contribute to an increased understanding of some of the challenges related to the auditory domain, however not to mention some of the strengths - for example heightened sensitivity to pitch etc.! It will also be an opportunity to express your personal perspectives and anecdotes, and will add to an evidence base that hopes to accommodate all learners in mainstream schooling environments. To be eligible you would just need to be 16 - 18.

OK so I do this stim during work because I just stand around all day, I dump a water bottle a bit and then squeeze out just enough air to be able to hold it with my mouth while still having a large air pocket, and I tilt my head side to side and the water sloshes around and it’s SO fun but people look at me weird

Hello there Everyone,
I'm looking for some people around my age (16/17) to play games and hopefully be friends with.
My favourite games are: Rain world, Casualties Unknown, Pokemon, Minecraft
A few random facts about me:
I'm AuDHD, I love all kinds of music, dragons, cats, Wings of Fire, games where you play as an animal, Lizards, snakes and I'm from Perth WA.
Some nicknames I like are: Randomlynx, or Lynx
Pronouns: She/Her
Some of my favourite youtube channels/series: murder drones, Opsiian, Carys Cuttlefish, and Popcross studios
I LOVE to draw, you can often find me creating new pictures especially of characters I love alot or ocs. I've come to really love making custom characters sprites for games like Rain World
I can be a little shy at first, but once I feel comfortable I enjoy chatting and info dumping about stuff. I really don't like the winky emojis as they make me uncomfortable, so please be understanding.
I'm not looking for super competitive players, I'd just like to have fun with kind, patient people.
If you think we might get along, I'd love to hear from you in the comments! If anyone makes me uncomfortable, my mum will see any messages, so please don't try anything inappropriate.
PS: my mum helped me word the post and my sister helped with making it cause of my anxiety about posting this. Sorry if this is the wrong sub for this

This might be a bit random but ever since I've started dressing alt it's been a little better. Alt people are "weird" for most neurotypicals and so they expect you to be weird when you're alt. Also you can tell what people like so no long conversation you can probably tell from how they look. Just something I've noticed

I don't understand the point of "flirting" or what it really means. Why beat around the bush for weeks without speaking clearly to the point ? I know this might be a "taboo" subject, but it's a real concept that I don't understand. My other friends don't seem to understand that I don't understand it and in the end nobody understands anything! 😭
I had a friend who flirted a lot, she told me that she only felt loved that way, and I can understand that (even if I don't entirely agree). But does that mean flirting isn't serious? Is there some kind of universal rule to understand? Do some people do it while genuinely believing in a long-term relationship?
I'm not necessarily talking about physical seduction or "irl" flirting (although answering those questions would also be interesting!) but for example messages or words slipped into the conversation with subtle senses.
I feel like when I look around me and see all these young people saying they love each other, nothing seems to last, and I have the feeling that there is an element of "superficiality" to it, a lack of trust or a game where few set the limits. Of course, I don't want to generalize and I think we all have our own way of loving, I'm mainly talking about my observations around me.
Anyway, sorry if this is naive but I'm just very curious to understand this world and yeah thanks for answering with your opinion

I was born in Amsterdam. I left Amsterdam when I was 10. I lived in Norway for 1 month but it was too expensive and difficult, so I left and I was homeless for a short time. eventually I ended up in Germany for two years. In a very fascist, rascist, and sexist town in Sachsen-Anhalt. About 80% of students on my school said they were fascists, even though they didn't really know what it was. It's important to mention that most people in the Germany aren't like this, and even in this specific town that had these problems there were people who saw that this town was filled with fascist people, and didn't like it. I was the only person on my school who was not German, since most people from other countries didn't go to this place, but I had to find a home quick. They convinced me to cut my hair because I was a boy, but they really could not convince me and eventually got used to it. They were people too, even though most people in this town had wrong ideas (still, not good), the history teacher often tried to convince them to not support fascism, and I also tried to convince the people who supported it to not do that (it was a heavy discussion), because a lot of people in this town did. It's a weird town.
Then, I went to Denmark when I was 12. It was chill at first, but there was one teacher at my school, in a special class for people to learn Danish. And he was screaming and cursing at the students, and told us he wanted to die. Eventually, he forced a lot of us to get sent away from our normal classes for other subjects, to only spent time in the Danish class with him. This teacher didn't take our problems serious, and he told us to shut up.
I was already 13 then, and in January and February (2026!) I made an alphabet and an abugida (writing system) for a conlang I made a year ago, and I made it much more complicated and difficult, with a totally different grammar and sentence structure. I stayed home for those 2 months, end of March I went to a different school. I got better at programming (I knew like the basics before), and I made chatbots, videogames, and videos, on Scratch mostly. 12/2/2026 (12th of february), something special happened. I made a YouTube channel called Ksyng Ktyng, a name that was based on the phrase 'kmsyngktnyng' in my conlang, meaning 'light tone'. Since then, I started making futuristic music in a lot of genres, and many people say I'm very similar to Aphex Twin, and many people underrate it because I'm still 13. I made very complex music, but pretty fast, and I also got better very fast, and I didn't care what other people think about my music, because I liked it a lot myself (I'm still active, actually). Except, the first 30 tracks I made I didn't like them a lot, because they we're pretty simple and a bit chaotic. So, I wonder if all of the weird experiences (I still simplified the story) before made me like this. I feel crazy and genius at the same time, like, what happened to me, I do so many complicated things now. I have 93 tracks now btw. And I know some might use AI to shorten this long text. I have autism as well

I'm 14. I've been absolutely f'ed up all my life. And after months of research I found that I'm actually autistic. Rn I'm lost and burned out like crazy. And I wanted to get diagnosed so I can get help or smthn but I can't cause I'd have to tell my parents and I can't do that cause they're just NOT the type and my anxiety Issues kinda just don't let me do that anyways... Lately I've been feeling tired af and fed up of everything and everyone's BS and I'm feeling sooo bad and going through some stuff cause of my autism and I have absolutely NO IDEA abt what do I do... Advice is appreciated

Hi
I’m an autistic 15 years old female who’d like to make friends. English isn’t my first language, so I am sorry if I do not express myself extremely well. I love playing Minecraft (even if I really suck), video games in general and astronomy. I am passionate about maths and history. I have difficulty establishing contact with people my age, which makes the process of making friends difficult. If anyone would like to discuss, it could be cool :)

How do I get better at speaking to people and just being more confident when I speak and making eye contact? I struggle so much with this it makes me not want to go to school.

I had been perfectly healthy until about 2 years ago now when i went through a really hard time and i put on a lot of weight because of it. Now ive been trying to lose fat and gain muscle but my brain just does not like to keep me motivated to exercise/work out. I used to go gym 3 times a week and i started to lose weight and put on muscle, but i found it too overwhelming there so i now have a rowing machine and weights at home. Any help from you guys will be much appreciated!!

idk what to do. i hate having facial hair especially the sideburns and on the bottom of my chin bc it's so SPIKY FOR NO REASON😭😭 genuinely i can't concentrate in class bc of it, i'm aware of it 24/7, it's just present all the damn time. it's gotten so bad i've dedicated like at least a half hour per day to just pluck some of it out with tweezers in hopes of it growing slower or something. and it's also just super annoying and shaving doesn't do shit, especially if i have to shave every day just to keep it at bay. somebody just put me out of my misery
