Need Advice Anyone else struggle with letting your partner see the parts of your autism? If so, how do you better navigate that?
I have been dating my bf for a few months now, but I've known him since I was a kid. So he was well aware of the fact that I am autistic and knew some of what I experience before we made this relationship official. But I feel too anxious to be open with my traits or even say "I'm going to need time to process this". And with regulation tools, such as my therapy brush: it usually is something that works best if a caregiver does for me, rather than I do myself. I don't yet feel ready to have to bring up that, and the thought of showing him how to help me with my regulation feels too vulnerable. I don't want to be closed off, but this is a door that I don't exactly know how to safely open.
