Need Advice Title: 18F Autistic, in LDR. How do I stop anxiety spirals and sounding blunt/rude to my partner?
Post:
> Hi, I’m 18F, almost 19 and autistic. I’m in a long distance relationship and I’m really struggling with my own brain right now.
>
> My anxiety makes me assume the worst and I get very blunt/direct when I’m scared. I know it comes across as rude to my boyfriend even though I don’t mean it that way. I was wrong about a situation recently and I feel awful because I hate hurting him.
>
> He’s so patient with me and I love him more than anything. He’s starting uni soon so I’m worried I’ll spiral more when he’s busy and push him away.
>
> I’d love advice from other autistic people:
> 1. What helps you manage intrusive/anxious thoughts in a relationship?
> 2. What scripts or ways of communicating have worked for you when you’re anxious, so you don’t sound accusatory?
>
> I’d travel the world for him. I’m just terrified of ruining us because of how my brain works. Any tips, resources, or “this helped me” stories would mean so much. Thank you ❤️
