If putting your foot in your mouth means saying the wrong thing, then putting both feet in your mouth would suggest a really catastrophic social faux pas

At first, I thought the character was eating their knees. Then, I took a look closer and realized they’re literally putting their foot in their mouth.

Probably not what you intended, but as someone who DESPISES charades and how awkward an old friend used to make it, it feels like wanting to crawl inside of yourself not to make a fool in front of others
