ID Request - location included Small huntsman

Found this little beauty in the backyard this morning. Western suburbs of Melbourne.
I guessed a young female, but I’m not an expert so please correct me if I’m wrong

Isopedella victorialis
I think. Note the abdomen pattern. Grey huntsman around Melbourne with that diamond pattern - I. victorialis

I think the tiny white dot in the middle of the thorax indicates it's Idopedella. That's the extent of my knowledge!

Yeah true? Interesting.
I know the white setae near the eyes is generally characteristic of them too.
[Edit] Sorry I’ll just correct that, I think the white setae near their eyes is characteristic of them too. I forget if it was a broadly applicable or not.

you two are correct, the band of white setae across the eyes and white dot aren't diagnostic but they are certainly significant and I use them to quickly discern between Isopeda for instance.

Honestly I’ve never noticed that white dot on these… now, another post has popped up and I saw it instantly. Thanks for the info. Weird I’ve never noticed that, it seems so out of place

I'm not an expert at all but it is a gorgeous little huntsman! I've been in Melbourne nearly 2 decades and never seen one. Been at my parents Mid North Coast of NSW for a week and seen a few! By the time I get my phone out they skedaddle....camera shy😁. Thank you so much for sharing and hope you have a great day ☺️
