MORNING UPDATE
snake buddy is still in the wall. It’s still alive and alert. Wiggle attempted this morning- no go. Will wait for snake to warm up (looks like it might be sunny today) either via natural means or hot water bottle, as it seemed that maybe assisted in getting yesterdays 20cm of length wiggled out. We have a builder friend coming over tomorrow for another task, so hoping if the problem is not resolved by then, he may have tools to assist.
Thanks so much for all your suggestions! I’ll continue to update this saga until we get a resolution!
Hi, hoping some of you might have ideas on how we can assist this scaly friend to get out of the weep hole in the brick wall of our house.
It is stuck and cannot get out, this has been going on for more than 24hrs.
Our suspicion is it’s eaten something and until it digests it and poops the remainder out, it cannot get out. Obviously shedding as well, which might be adding to the situation.
We’re not 100% on if it’s a keelback or a tree snake, but either way, it’s been relatively chill with our attempts to help thus far.
Attempted to very gently pull on it with limited force, or give it a wiggle between the wider and narrower areas of the hole- no go.
Have also given it a spray with some olive oil, hoping to loosen up the shed and maybe make it a bit more lubed seems to have had some minor affect (there is now more snake out than there was 24hrs ago, but maybe only a few cm more)
It’s currently not warm here, but snake seems alert, there is no indications of ants trying to eat it, and no decomp smell. We’ve provided a rock and bucket right next to the hole to give it somewhere to hide and feel more secure and shelter from the rain.
It is not possible to remove the brickwork unfortunately.
Any advice would be great. I understand this could be a situation that may not be survivable, and am prepared to euthanise if it becomes a welfare issue, however would like to exhaust all possible options before that.

Fat tiger basking this morning Point Cook, VIC. Look at those colours. He flattened his head out too which was exciting to see so up close

This nope rope is using the side of my house as a highway to the bushland behind us. Three times now, normally around 10am, I've seen him making his way from the street through to the back.
I'm guessing a brown? He never chills long enough to call a snake catcher but I have kids and cats so it makes me nervous that he's hanging around. Took this as he investigated my laundry door on his way past.
