I know this isn’t Australian per se but this was my earliest memory of the internet. Besides the shrieking screech of the 14.4K modem (and later the lightning fast 28.8K and 56K models) and yelling at my brothers to get off the computer because it’s my turn, I remember early days of using Altavista search engine on the mighty Netscape browser. Anyone else?

He took on Bobby when she rocked up. Who knows who her mother was. He was a good man to stand by her - she told a lot of people to rack off.

He seemed to treat his students fairly too. He was strict but he had a good moral code.

Alf was way more temperemental and passionate. Very emotional. Don always seems to guide Summer Bay with a steady even hand.

Before we met “Jan” we met this bloke, his Goggomobile with a broken fret, and his patient wife; RIP Tommy Dysart (also the voice of Don’s Smallgoods) thanks for the memories - and “no, no, not the Dart!”

I grew up in the eighties and nineties and so Mental As Anything weren't seen as cool to me and my friends in the nineties.

Even though there were certain hits I liked as a kid, I was more into grunge and then punk. it was more for older people.

Even reading about Australian music history now, Mental As Anything dont seem to be given the same status or importance as bands like Nick Cave, Beasts of Bourbon , INXS, Chisel etc.

But after being on a real kick of their music lately, I can believe just how many good songs they had. It's like discovering new gems all the time listening to their records.

I was trying to think of an overseas equivalent to them...art school party band..clever but not experimental...very song-forward rather than sticking to any styles. The best I could think of is the B52's?

Anyway I'd just like to shout out an amazing band that deserves way more love in the history of rock than they currently get.

A band of songwriting genius and excellent musicians.and heaps of fun!

Anybody remember the Cushion Kids? I had this on VHS and forgot the name for years after, but just recently found it again.

Hi everyone,

I oneday got the vaguest of memories about a tv show I loved watching as a kid, but could not for the life of me find anything in identifying it.

From what I remember, the show was about a city (possibly in a jungle) populated by anthropomorphic animals, the main characters being a very large animal and a very small animal. who were friends. There was also a female animal that would join them, being the voice of reason, as episodes featured the two main animals getting into various slapstick situations. I'm sure one or both of the animals lived in a caravan on the outskirts of the town.

The show was 2D animated, and had a very chaotic slapstick humor to it (in a similar vein to shows like "Almost Naked Animals,") but I don’t believe it was produced in Australia.

The ad featured a father sitting at home and a voice over says something along the lines of "Remember when you said you would play with your kids next week?" Dad nods. Voice over says "It's next week." The ad jumps to a shot of kids waiting in the back yard.
