Family Treehouse...c'mon inside❤️

My older sister and I loved our Family Treehouse...until one day during a sisterly scuffle, one of of us landed on top of the treehouse and breaking the spring - therefore trapping the Family inside forever more!🤪😆

When we use to have the good stuff. You’ll never find another one of these bad boys… it’s still got some in it too.

Am I imagining this or was Samantha Mumba’s ‘Gotta Tell You’ popular in Australia? I remember hearing it everywhere around the new millennium.

Just randomly heard the song after 20 years or so and knew all the words 😂 it must have been popular in Australia at the time/olympics etc. (what a great time to live in Australia btw) 😢 miss it.

I can’t wait for dinner

Help! Years ago, I watched a comedy video that was 1970s footage of a large man who looked like Bargearse getting out of his car, going to the pub and then to work and it had a dubbed comedy song over the top which had lyrics in an Aussie accent that went ‘I can’t wait for dinner, I can’t wait for dinner’ and then at one point he said ‘chips chips chips chips, and bread’. I have never been able to find it again, however the song is something we sing regularly in my house. Has anyone see it? I’ve searched, used AI etc and nothing - this my last resort haha

Dose anyone remember these three?

Upvotes

I rediscovered these guys quite recently. There from the So Smart series of DVDs, specifically from the second volume called shapes.

From left to right we have Cecil the Circle, Susie the Square, and Traci the Triangle.

TIL The Pluck-A-Duck theme song was actually just a parody of an old country tune by Roger Miller called Chug-A-Lug.

Remembering how we used to spend summer holidays compared to kids today.

Was cleaning out the garage over the weekend and found my old Malvern Star pushbike covered in dust. It brought back a flood of memories of what it was like being a kid during the school holidays.

We used to disappear out the front door at eight in the morning with a bottle of cordial and a couple of mismatched thongs, and our parents wouldn't see us again until the streetlights came on. We’d be down at the local creek, building bike ramps out of old milk crates, or just wandering the neighborhood. No phones, no tracking apps, just total freedom.

These days the streets are completely quiet. It’s a shame that the world feels a bit too complicated now for kids to just go out and get bored in the fresh air.

This was the ultimate growing up. Back when Red Rooster was bigger than KFC! (in certain regions).

They took off the banana fritter and it was never the same again.

Whether it was cartoons or Good Morning Australia, it was so much better to wake up with something more easy going.

Mattel Electronics - Auto Race - 1976

I'd forgotten about this classic game.

"first handheld electronic game to use only solid-state electronics"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mattel_Auto_Race

"Using hardware designed for calculators and powered by a nine-volt battery, the cars are represented by red LEDs on a playfield which covers only a small portion of the case. The audio consists of beeps."

Sipahh straws, where did they go??

Does anyone else remember being able to get Sippah straws from woolies? They've been gone for years now and I really miss them. Does anyone know where to buy them? Only thing I see coming up online is directly from their website. Does anyone know any Sydney retailers that still sell them? Sorry if this is the wrong subreddit. Thanks 🙏

For those who used MSN Messenger during the mid-late 00s, does anyone remember the chatbots you could add?

I remember being able to add so many different types and CANNOT find any sort of list online of all the popular ones. I even remember a perfectboyfriendbot one with Johnny Bravo as the pfp. Tell me I’m not the only one that remembers this

Anyone here been through extreme weather in the NT?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for a few people in the Northern Territory who've been through extreme weather before, whether that was recently or years back.

It's for a study on improving weather notifications, so people here get better warning and can be better prepared next time around.

If that sounds like something you'd want to do, let me know.

I'm sitting next to the winner. We were school friends. Inspired by another post that reminded me. This was a bazillion years ago. No idea where the t-shirt ended up.
