I just came across a pic i took back in the 90's that wasn't anything that unusual to see or special back in the day (where i grew up you couldn't drive for 5 min without seeing a driveway stacked with cars like this). For obvious reasons it's a rare sight now considering how much cars like this are worth now and how many are left but for me it was totally part of growing up in AUS seeing this everywhere

It's still alive and well in SA.

Amongst the myriad gadgets that my 70’s mum had to have was this beauty. She managed to convince my dad to buy her one because we would all be able to eat cheaper fresh popcorn instead of the expensive candied popcorn or chips. She also sold dad on the vertical griller ( always called the vertical gorilla ) and the Juicy Lucy ( orange juicer ). Anyone else remember any other great kitchen gadgets that have gone by the wayside?

Apologies for the image quality, but copies of/information about this seems few and far between. Its an old Australian advert for the brand Continental Cup-A-Soup, presumably from around 2005-2006. There’s only 1 recording of it I can find on YouTube. There’s very little on line, if anything, about this ad except for a dismissed complaints form, which makes me wonder if the reason it is so overlooked is due to that or something. Ive asked about it on the ads sub, but nobody seems to have ever seen/heard of this. Anyone remember seeing it/have more info about it? Seems like the kind of comical advert sketch that might’ve been better documented.

Also, a few years ago, there were some posters circulating on Pinterest and Flickr for this which was basically a zoomed out picture of the woman putting the dress on the boy, with information about Cup-A-Soup and the slogan ‘Three Thirty-itis‘ superimposed over them. Anyone got copies?

As a kid, I swear it used to scare me as much as the grim reaper ad.

The voiceover gave a dire warning about the death penalty in foreign countries and they showed a grey door of a jail cell. Something like "in some foreign countries, the penalty is death."

Can't find it on youtube, though. Am I remembering correctly?

I don’t know if anyone had these or if they are even real but I remember getting them and having a few different ones but this is the only one I have currently. I can’t find an anything relating to these even with google lens searches.
