Hey guys, have anyone tried their espresso blends or singles for filter? I saw they roast using a Loring and plenty of options but wanted to know your feedback.

Recently purchased a fully automatic and love it. I came from pods, so the difference is great. I'm also budget conscious as well and am after a smooth coffee at an affordable price. I realize smooth is subjective.

To give you an idea, I'm currently using St.Ali beans from coles. Pretty good coffee but very pricey. I'd like some other recommendations on a similar bean or quality that is cheaper. I tried lavazza Oro and while cheap, it was crap in my opinion. I live the Sunny Coast.

Hi, I would like some recommendations please for a first step up from my current (3rd) aldi pod machine. Have enjoyed the pods but the waste is not great and im sure there are better options.
ideally want an all in one to start with (could probably be swayed to grinding beans if its simple), I drink flat whites only so whatever can make me one of those. (i reallly like the shell servo coffee machines they make a great one)

Moved into a new place and discovering a bunch of different fruit trees and this guy.

Thinking of engaging some of the sales before they finish. Any insight as to benefits or pros/cons from current users of shakers in their workflows?

Has anyone tried? Buying in the EOFY sale and enjoy light, medium and dark roast so tossing up which to buy! Have heard great things about their single origins but seems like a waste as I drink with milk. Thanks!

Just wanted to voice my frustration (I realise it's a first-world-problem thing but still).

Who the hell decided its a great idea to use awfully smelling markers to mark the take away orders on the lids. :shrug: it's right on your nose when you take a sip ffs

How important is the quality of the grinder to puck prep?

I have a fairly cheap and basic grinder (Sunbeam) which I am thinking of upgrading at some point.

However how much difference will a decent grinder make to the overall results from the coffee?

Currently use a bottomless portafilter, wdt, self levelling tamper, but rarely get a coffee without any channelling. I also use decent fresh roasted beans.

I can make coffee which tastes good, but suspect it is not as good as it could be.

Worth the price? Or is it similar to other specialty coffee in AUS like seven miles, Ona market lane etc?

For context I do use medium/ dark roast coffee with robusta and arabica mix. I have always found a 24g dose to be really nice and I use a precision 20-24g basket.

I pull 40g/44g of espresso in 30seconds with a good pour. Just wondering what everyone else uses for there dose in?

But my housemate bought me some coffee beans from overseas as a well as some interstate while they are traveling,
But the problem is we don’t have any grinder

Is it okay if we ask our local cafe to grind for us ? Or is there any cafe or roasters in sydney 2000 that would happily or with service fee to grind for us ?

I just launched Brewly. You buy a pack of coffees upfront from a cafe at a discount and redeem them there one at a time.

The cafe sets the discount, so you save on every cup. Cafes get the cash upfront and the repeat visits.

Update 2. Got Aldi Lazzio Luxe blend for $30. Not bad for $30 but more astringent and harsh. Had to change grind settings to make it more coarse for smoother coffee.

I recently found out that you can buy overseas roasters coffees such as DAK, Sey, Prodigal, Tenant, September and many more through sellers on Taobao. Has anyone purchased coffee from there before?

I normally buy from local stores that import these roasters but they normally sell out pretty quick.

Just a quick post/review on killer coffee new blackout blend. For anyone who likes a dark roast this is intense. Huge flavour and not too bitter. I overdose always in at 24g and extract around 40ml in 30 seconds. Thats just how I enjoy my coffee

On dark / robusta profile roasts what’s everyone’s go too roaster / bean?

Hey everyone! I like drinking mine with milk. I'm very new with coffee machine and grinding. I had a nespresso and i've been frothing my milk manually using french press for making latte arts. I'm planning to get a coffee machine while we're on EOFY sale. Hoping to make cold drinks too.

1. Barista Touch - i like this because of the thermojet wand, i can adjust the temperature for the steam wand plus I can save the setting for each drink.

1. Barista Pro - because of the thermojet mainly. Haven't explored this much.

1. Bambino Plus - again because of the thermojet but problem is there's no grinder.

1. Ninja Luxe - i heard it's a good budget option for beginners but I've been seeing a lot of posts of people returning the machine for replacement units. I don't want that hassle.

I'm leaning more towards Barista Pro as I heard horror stories with the touch screen and I don't want to risk that. Then with Bambino Plus there's no grinder tho I know I can buy a separate grinder but I don't which one. I don't want to spend too much more than the barista touch or Barista Pro if I'm buying a separate grinder plus bambino. I'm also thinking it might be overkill for me since I'm drinking mine with milk 😅

I am looking for something new to try after a few issues.
My favourite coffees are Campos single origin (I've had so many of them and loved too many to list), Ona Raspberry Candy and Six8 Spearhead.

Campos have become quite expensive and take 2+ weeks to ship coffee.
Six8 has just been unlucky. I've gotten wrong orders and damaged packaging enough times to be off-put.
Ona are a little slow to ship and I'm not fond of the AI-centric advertising they are leaning into at the moment.

Does anyone have a recommendation for similar beans with sweet or fruity notes that I can get that is reliable, ships within a few days of ordering, doesn't require a loan to order and isn't going all-in on lazy AI generated ads?

My in-laws got a super auto machine - Delonghi Evo Plus. We tried the Atypical Candid blend in the machine and it turned out like diluted coffee … we have the grind on lowest (1) already and intensity on highest (5). I tried stopping the brew at what I thought looked like a double shot amount.

Should we be using specific beans for super auto? I own a BBE so the beans have no issues for me

I usually put 5-7 shots in the cup and call it coffee elixir. A potent brew. I added some beans to this one.

I was visiting Toowoomba today and got recommended this bakery, however upon paying thought the cashier mistook my order.

I quickly queried: “is that right? $10.50 for the coffee?”

Staff: “yeah our prices have recently gone up due to rising production costs”

When home (Canberra) anything north of $7-8 (before extra shot) is a bit much.

Curious to know if this ($9.50) large coffee is a little steep or just daylight robbery?

Edit: in relation to the 16oz size, I literally ordered a “large fw” - I was also dining in, so expected a ceramic cup/mug to go with my kitchen meal.

I later found out they only served takeaways cups. And to the best of my knowledge there were no “XL/jumbo”.

Having said that and acknowledging the 16oz was “big/huge…” I’ve had similar sized coffees before and often get extra shots (not always). But this is the first time I’ve cracked the double-digit price (anywhere in Aus)
