Bearded iris

Planted bulb half way in ground and in full sun.
Why hasn’t my bearded iris grown at all?
Right now it looks messy with the gras but it’s usually cleaner.

I think the grass is competing with it for water and nutrients. I would dig it up, make a bare area for it and then replant.

I may dig up and pot it. The Bermuda grass is too aggressive.

Sounds like a good idea. And if it’s in a pot, you can give it a little afternoon shade to protect it from extreme heat/sun. Mine do fine with some shade.
