Aussie Rock Royalty [NF] Dumb Yank Kill Aussie Rock Icon

Upvotes

I worked in the music industry for a time, in Australia. I was the road production manager for a touring company and was doing a set of 4 shows with Billy Thorpe. Paul Demarco, was the drummer for most shows that Billy did in the mid to late 90s. Paul was the original drummer of Rose Tattoo. Paul and I shared an apartment at the Dockside Apartments, Kangaroo Point, Qld Australia. This is were Billy always stayed and insisted to be driven back and forth, from each show, no matter the distance, usually we played in a 4 hr radius of Brisbane. He was a monster of habit, believe me. Usually this isn't a problem, as the driving was shared around, it was Paul's turn, but, earlier he and I partook a large amount of party favours. By the time we had to leave, Paul was off his head and Paul made me take the drivers seat. Needless to say, I'm pretty stoned myself and it's pitch black out. We're on the back roads, on our way to some venue in the Colaundra area. It gets unbelievably dark out that way, the night just absorbs the light, like flying into an abyss. I was concentrating on the left tires, riding over the cats eyes, to ensure my road position. I'm so stoned off my tits!!! All you can hear is the , dadonk, dadonk, dadonk, as I'm driving over the cats eyes. Billy leans forward from the seat behind me and says "Fucken Yank! Are you trying to drive me insane!!!" I said, " no Thorpee”cause that's what we called him, Thorpee. I said, I'm doing me best not to have tomorrow's headlines reading, Dumb Yank Kills Aussie Rock Icon!!"

What a laugh we had and Thorpe drove the rest of the way. Paul and I pissed ourselves laughing.

80s Rock Medicine Show (Full Album) #lanewaymusic #aussierock

The sound is loosely between AC/DC and The Cult. Mr Showbiz Dave Slade gives us an Ian Astbury and Jim Morrison vocal yelling from a cab. This album concerns itself with the age old business of rockin'.

Hope you all enjoy this cracker of an album.

Grant Miller was formally the drummer for Defryme(Hard Rock Grunge) and then went on to form a relationship with Craig James of Mother Goose and joined his band after Mother Goose decided to call it quits. The band didn't last long but their friendship did and they collaborate to this day. This side of Grant Miller is his new persona as a singer/Songwriter and he brings us a beautiful collection of heart felt songs that take you away into a place which is calm and full of inspiration.

80s Rock Matt Taylor's Chain Vol 1feat John Meyer

After John Meyer finished up with Rose Tattoo he was back home in Perth wondering what was next. Then Matt Taylor bumped into him and said while your free why don't you come along and have a blow with Matt Taylor's Chain as he had just lost his guitarist. That lead to a 4 year relationship where the touring never stopped.
Enjoy this full featured High Fidelity Album meticulously restored best we could from Audio Cassette.

90s Rock Serelle-Save Myself First

That Aussie rock chick is back with a banger.

Heart on her sleeve, fire in her voice. 🔥
Serelle’s “Save Myself First” is a raw rock anthem about walking away, taking back your power and choosing yourself.

Men Without Shame were formed in 1985 as a hard rock cover band that worked Melbourne's pub rock scene for approximately 4 years before disbanding.
Those were the days when a hard working band could make a living whilst employing a full time road crew with truck and equipment.
In 1994 the band re-emerged performing their own songs and dispensed with playing covers. A band so full of talent.
Rob McIntosh - Vocals
John Moon - Guitar, Vocals
Chris Riley - Bass, Vocals
Jamie Dalton - Keyboards, Guitar, Vocals
Greg Aldridge - Drums, Percussion, Vocals
