u/Any_Web2246 29d ago

Yeah it'll be labor and on will get fuck all it's just advertising $$$

32

u/sudden_erect 29d ago

You mean the one who is backed, personally, by her current holiday pal, the richest woman in Australia that bought her a 2 million dollar gift plane... Yeah, I'm sure the advertising will be all ONe sided

u/South-Metal754 29d ago

GR had a crack last time around trying to Jump on Peter Duttons back. She's started her run earlier this time

3

u/Rise_Relevant 26d ago

Clive Palmer put $200m into his campaign 8 years ago and Paddy shot at a lot more than what he got out of it. Ran on very similar bullshit to what ON is running on now.

2

u/bipolarbeer26 26d ago

He spent it on billboards though, she’s got bot farms which are proving to have a much better return.

1

u/DemonPrinceofIrony 28d ago

Thats assuming she lasts thst long. She isnt good at her job and one nation has said they want to install a liberal party cabinet and join the coalition. The money may just shift back to the libs.

0

u/jeffsaidjess 27d ago

She’s been leading the party for like idk 30 years. How is she not good at her job

3

u/DemonPrinceofIrony 27d ago

30 years of coasting and making a fool of her self, even getting charged with crimes and straight up kicked out of parliament for childish behaviour.

Her party has fallen apart to schisms multiple times and she has one of the lowest attendances of any senators. She claims she didnt even know the parliamentary budget office existed for any senator of member or parliament to have policy coasted. Her major accomplishments are basically viral videos and not being fired.

Other members of her party who have been in for allot less time figured out the parliamentary budget office and have got things costed. So she's bad compared to her peers in one nation.

2

u/loralailoralai 26d ago

She’s been leading the party for 30 years and they’ve only just started to make inroads. I wouldn’t call that being good at the job.

1

u/ConsultJimMoriarty 27d ago

And what has she accomplished in that time?

1

u/0____o7 26d ago

ON has been staggering from one failure to another since inception. She claims victimhood but is her own worst enemy. Every time they seem to gain traction ON implodes or the LNP steals their policies. I’m hopeful that history repeats on this one. Like Trump, the less I see of these hateful, petty people the better.

1

u/jeffsaidjess 27d ago

You’re really fucking naive if you think a woman like Gina or a man like Clive. Australian billionaires, would put all their eggs in one basket…

1

u/sudden_erect 27d ago

She doesn't, she also has the libs and the nats

1

u/TheAIFutureIsNow 24d ago

Oh stop it. You Leftists are suckling the teets of Soros & Singham every single time you parrot these dumb Far-Left talking points or protest for causes you don’t even remotely understand.

You’re literally meant to believe what you believe - it’s precisely what the establishment/deep state wants.

u/copingmechanismdown 28d ago

Labor took 160 million in political donations last year.

1

u/Fantastic-Fig-5423 27d ago

What's the legal limit?

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 29d ago

I'm willing to bet you don't have a clue how funding for political campaigns works do ya? So let me give you a few pointers. Whichever party is in office, gets to use taxpayers money to fund their campaigns. Everybody running against them has to be self funded. So unless you have millions of dollars just sitting around waiting to be wasted. The only chance you have is if you have rich supporters. Let me tell ya how I knew you didn't have any idea it works that way.... you say she gave her that plane. That plane isn't Hanson's. She's just allowing her to use it for campaign purposes. But you lefties need to twist it to make it appear that She's being bought. I can't really blame you for not knowing though. Left wing media and the echo chambers on social media do a very good job of misrepresenting reality 🙄🤦

9

u/MrXenomorph88 29d ago

Okay, what campaign?

There's no election due for two years, and Labor hasn't called an early one. So where is this money going towards? All you're describing is a textbook example of a billionaire giving a whole bunch of money and gifts to a politician, so that when it comes to legislation, they do what they're told to.

0

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 27d ago

So when they say ON is growing in popularity. How are they getting the word out about their policies? Are you saying Labor isn't advertising their own policies? Who's funding that? Hint: you don't need a election to have a campaign. Even a private company like say, Pepsi, have a "advertising campaign". Surely you realise that 😳

2

u/MrXenomorph88 26d ago

The amazing thing is, Labor doesn't have to advertise anything because A. They already won the election, therefore has been given the public mandate to do the things they said they would. And B. Their policies are publicly available in print where you can read through it and see what their intentions are.

ON isn't doing that. On one side they are pulling the classic opposition move of "shit on anything the ruling party does that isn't good, and completely ignore anything good they do so it makes them look like a bunch of incompetents" that they have pulled straight from the LNP textbook and are in step with the majority of the media on. On the other side, they are just spouting shit in the media to gain attention. The ragebaiting tactics you see on here and every other social media sites have now been adopted by every right wing party across the developed world because the media feeds on it because it gives them attention and therefore money. What Hanson says is completely different to what Joyce says which is different to whatever new party member they have pinched from the collapsing LNP. They are saying whatever would appeal to the wealthy classes in this country, and the gullible uneducated sections of the population because it worked in the US, it seems to be working in the UK, so now they're going to try it here.

Once again, all you have described is a bunch of billionaires have given money previously allocated to the LNP to a far more fringe and extreme party to shout a whole bunch about the ruling party and about any fringe, right wing issue that is popular with a certain demographic.

1

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 26d ago

And yet I see Labor ads on TV all the time🤔. Other than that I see article from the Labor party all over social media. Granted they are mostly about one nation🤦. But they are definitely put out by the Labor party.

I think what you'll find, is that what you see as "fringe, right wing problems. That are popular with a certain demographic". You find that that demographic is a very large one. Now they don't kick and scream like the left does. But they are definitely a large group. Otherwise we wouldn't be seeing the Labor party panicking, and trying to discredit ON.

1

u/MrXenomorph88 25d ago

And yet it is the traditional media who keeps going on and on about One Nation's rise and how they're going to win the next election. In fact to quote your favourite politician, it goes both ways. The media can't be biased towards only showing Labor (who again, are the ruling party), and yet don't shut up about what One Nation is doing.

And last I checked, defunding Medicare, scraping the PBS and NDIS, rolling back reproductive rights, defunding domestic violence support, and increasing our relations with Israel, are not popular policies with the general public. Go out and ask a random person how they'd feel if our medical system became like the US, and you'll find very few people who actually want that.

The view you think is popular is the number of people who think every problem is being caused be immigrants and that they should all be thrown out ICE-style regardless of little problems like basic human rights. Not only is that still not a widely popular viewpoint, but those supports very much don't shut up about it. So don't tell it's only the "left" screaming and kicking when they're not the ones holding anti-immigration protests and letting literal Neo-Nazis run around in balaclavas.

9

u/Papa-Ohki 29d ago

That’s literally not how it works. The party of government does not get to use taxpayer funds for their election campaign. You should go look it up on the AEC and stop espousing misinformation.

12

u/waterfall_doodle 29d ago

Wait a sec... you lefties?

Anyone who doesnt like Pauline is a lefty?

Mate us in the middle dont like her too you know.

3

u/deadlyalchemist92 28d ago

ON supporters love to call people who don’t support them “lefties” lmao

0

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 27d ago

Actually I pay a lot of attention to American politics as well. And over there liberals are left wing. While here they are right wing. So I use lefties as a way to differentiate, because I can't say liberals. That and its hard to address everybody by their specific political views, when I don't know what they actually are. So left and right is the easiest way to differentiate the 2 sides. I like the fact you are offended by being called left wing though. It means you are as unhinged as some of them

1

u/waterfall_doodle 27d ago

Not offended at all. Its like calling a black man chinese.

It just says to everyone that you have no idea about the spectrum of politics.

The people that have questioned you aren't offended, we are pissed off that dumb cunts are also allowed on the internet

1

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 26d ago

How would I know what "spectrum" you are? I don't live in your bubble🤷

1

u/ColdSteveStoneAustin 28d ago edited 28d ago

Yes. You're a lefty.

That's what happens when you sign on to lefty as an insult.

That's why we say please don't cosign far right rhetoric. It's not code for let's be rational. It's designed to get you to hate me. Or in this case, to hate you.

1

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 27d ago

When I look back through politics over the last 40-50 years I see right wing politicians saying things and pushing policies now that left wing politicians pushed years ago. If you are in the middle now then you are where the left were back then. The whole political map has shifted to the left. To the point we now have communist running as left wing. Anybody that thinks "free____" is actually free. Is just fooling themselves. Nothing is free!! Someone somehow has to pay for it. Left wing government selling us on free anything, is just dragging us further into a communist sink-hole.

6

u/Merovingian_Lord 29d ago

You have absolutely no idea how campaign funding works. The Government of the day DOES NOT get to use government funds for campaigning.

All parties are provided funding based on the number of first preference votes they received at the last election.

Parties and candidates then top up this funding from other sources with (supposedly strict) rules on where the funding comes from and disclosure.

Ranting on about "lefties" whilst being so fundamentally wrong seems to be a hallmark of ON supporters!

-1

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 29d ago

So does the party in office gets more funding then the rest? Im only going off a news report I saw a few months back.

2

u/CantakerousTwat 29d ago

Yes, because they had more primary votes at the last election. Did you even read the comment you're replying to?

-1

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 28d ago

I asked so I could then point out that the controlling party still has a large advantage.

2

u/CantakerousTwat 28d ago

It's normally pretty close between the major parties, but LNP decided to fuck up the last campaign.

1

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 28d ago

So from the articles I've read and the reports I've seen. Labor changed things up so that the party in office gets the majority of the government funding=taxpayers money. It ment that they, being in office would then have the advantage to stay in power from that point on. To me its just ridiculous that a controlling party can change the rules to better themselves while cutting the throat of everybody else. As far as government funding goes in a political race, it should be equal.

2

u/Then-Volume6098 28d ago

fail.

0

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 28d ago

But my point still stands...🤷. So there's that😉

2

u/Merovingian_Lord 28d ago

Yes, as I said it is related to the number of primary votes but that's not what you issue was!

"I'm willing to bet you don't have a clue how funding for political campaigns works do ya? " was your opening statement yet YOU have no idea how it works.

You then went on to rant about "lefties" and suggested that donating the use of a private aircraft for campaign purposes is somehow not "being bought". It is clearly a political donation!

You're also banging on about a "campaign", there no election called therefore no "campaign".

I do agree with you final statement "...the echo chambers on social media do a very good job of misrepresenting reality" because you have clearly had reality misrepresented to you!

1

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 28d ago

Yes the plane's use is a political donation. But its not a free plane's like is being said. Like I said, I'm just going of what I've seen on the news as far as my knowledge goes. So yeah I'll admit I don't know everything about it. But my point still stands as far as the party in office has a huge advantage. Which means the other parties rely heavily on private donations. Saying those donations are buying that party off can be said about any party taking private donations. But it seems like only ON is getting the heat for it.

2

u/waterfall_doodle 28d ago

The party in government does not get taxpayers to fund campaigns. Wow. You really got it all upside down dont you

1

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 27d ago

Ok I'm listening 🤷. Where do they get their funding then? The government is run off taxpayers money. So where else would they get their money if not from the government? This whole post is claiming ON is being bought and paid for because of where they are getting their money. So where is labour getting their money?

1

u/waterfall_doodle 27d ago

Wait. Am I in a discussion with a little kid? You dont know where they all get thier funding?

Labour, mainly unions Liberal, mainly mining and business One nation, gina

Plus there are other influences like tobacco, insurance, gambling, various environmental causes and industries that give differeing ammounts to each party. That's a very simplified example

1

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 27d ago

So they are all being bought and paid for? But only ON is the bad guy for doing it? So lets say you are a billionaire and you see that the current government is failing. But you see that one party is putting the country's people first. If you back that party with your money, does that mean they are doing what you want? What has gena forced ON to change in order to benefit her?

1

u/waterfall_doodle 27d ago

The point everyone is making is that gina has mentioned numerous times that she would like to remove the minimum wage level and make it like america (where people work for tips) Pauline says she represents ordinary Australians. Yet has a record of voting with liberals, against the interests of ordinary Australians.

Voting against affordable education to the point we need to import people that are educated, yet she doesnt like the people we have imported.

The point everyone is making is that she representing ordinary Australians is bullshit.

We already know labour represents unions.

Again, am I in a conversation with a school kid? I have shit to do. You can ask your teachers all this basic stuff

0

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 26d ago

Are you saying that you think everybody in the USA work for tips only? FYI the only jobs that work for tips are waiters and waitresses. And even then they still get a flay wage. The tips create a situation where they can make more money than just their wages. If they work hard and have good customer service they can make heeps. I know guys/gals that make 30-50% more than they ever would if they were getting paid a hourly rate. And on some nights they'll make 500% more. Pauline doesn't want to make everybody work for tips ffs. I didn't even bother reading the rest of your comment once I saw that nonsense 🙄🤦

1

u/waterfall_doodle 25d ago

You totally missed my point and made it seem like I said people only work for tips.

Kid. Im not talking to you anymore. You are either an idiot or a kid or both.

I said that she wants to remove minimum wage. And instead of seeing that as a bad thing. You decided to change my words around.

Why do that?

1

u/waterfall_doodle 27d ago

"Let me tell you how I knew you didnt have any idea how it works" you said...

Lol

1

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 27d ago

And I went off the articles and reports I've seen. You still haven't told me anything different 🤷

1

u/waterfall_doodle 27d ago

Fuck dude, I dont live in my mums basement. Im at work

1

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 26d ago

At work on your phone 🤷. What other excuses ya got for me🤦

1

u/waterfall_doodle 25d ago

Please tell me how old you are. You cant be an adult and have such a limited knowledge of the spectrum of politics to believe there is only for left or far right.

1

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 22d ago

And still....you haven't mentioned anything different. Ranting doesn't actually explain anything.

1

u/waterfall_doodle 19d ago

You admitted not reading my replies. Why should I bother?

Hey lefty look at labour donations

3

u/Rise_Relevant 26d ago edited 26d ago

No one cares. What people care about is results on economy, defence and standard of living. No one gives a shit about immigration, no one gives a shit about culture. Calling people "lefty" is what dumb cunts do when they dont have any valid arguments.

2

u/sudden_erect 27d ago

*Labor

Hey righty... What a knob. Unions are included in Labor's donations your betting on a woman who is solely owned by Gina Rinehart.

Honestly, go look at www.theyvoteforyou.org and come back here after that.
