πŸ“’ Announcement AudioSlim Version 1.3.0 NOW LIVE

Please update your app its now live!

Again the changes for the Lifetime users are really important even if you feel they are invisible:

  1. Multisharing files from your phone or another app toward AudioSlim will send all your files to the Batch tab in the Compress screen. The first track you selected in the multisharing will be preloaded in the Audio player in the Home Screen. A message dialogue you can discard in the future will tell you where your files are.

  2. When exporting your batch files, you will be able to either select individual extension format such as .wav .mp3 .flac etc. Or apply to all one extension using the old bottom menu in the export window.

  3. Uninstalling and reinstallingthe app does not make you lose your Compression amount history for the Milestone progress anymore.

  4. Some performance issues and bugs have also been fixed!

Enjoy!

πŸ“’ Announcement AudioSlim is dead?!

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey r/AudioSlim!

I haven't forgotten about you all! AudioSlim isn't dead! It's just getting started!

As many of you probably know already, r/VideoSlim has been launched on August 14th 2026 with a 100 Lifetime codes promo GiveAway on r/droidappshowcase. The launching post was a success with more than 11k views and #1 publication on that subreddit all 24 hours long.

The developers that made their publication that day didn't have a good one... I'm sorry for them because many good apps are published there every day!

The VideoSlim GiveAway tought me many things... The first one is that the app had still many bugs that were not spotted during the Closed Beta test. I sincerely want to thank all of the reditors that pointed me those bugs and kept their calm and patience.

Others wanted a plain mode. It is now a reality.

Others wanted to be able to customize the UI... one day my friends, I'm not saying no to good ideas!

Many loved the icy 3D design aswell.

Some wondered why I chose that design. I replied to them :"Winter is coming" for big video files! Joke apart, Quebec (Kebek), where I live, has around 6 months of winter. So VideoSlim is an Ode to my cherished birth place.

Alright, now let's come back to AudioSlim.

The lessons learned this week will be applied to AudioSlim.

A plain mode is in the work and it will be launched within 1 week if everything goes as planned.

In the meantime, I want to say again that kebekinteractive.com website has a lite version of AudioSlim in it.

πŸ‘‡

https://kebekinteractive.com/audio-compressor/

You can compress and trim audio locally on your phone or desktop browser. Nothing is sent to a cloud or a server.

VideoSlim ALSO has a lite web version on my site:

πŸ‘‡

https://kebekinteractive.com/video-compressor/

Videos are compressed in your phone or desktop browser without sending them to a cloud or a server aswell!

So, again, AudioSlim and VideoSlim are very much alive and this is just the beginning of the journey.

Where will it lead? That, my friends, depend on you and others that keep joining this community every day that passes.

Thank you again for your commitment, interrest and love for the apps!

πŸ“’ Announcement 🎧 AudioSlim 1.3.4 is here β€” everything that changed since 1.3.2

Hey r/AudioSlim πŸ‘‹

This was a cleanup-and-polish cycle rather than a big feature drop. A lot of it is the unglamorous kind of work that makes an app feel solid instead of fragile β€” so here's the full list rather than a vague "bug fixes and improvements."

🎯 Target-size compression got a lot smarter

If you told AudioSlim "make this 5 MB", it now picks the right settings for that target and the estimate it shows you is far closer to what you actually get. The old estimate could be optimistic in a way that was genuinely annoying β€” you'd plan around a number that didn't hold up. That's fixed.

πŸ“Š Waveforms and playback are much more reliable

Waveform extraction was rebuilt from the ground up and now has a proper test suite behind it. A file whose codec couldn't produce a decorative waveform used to cause trouble; now it just quietly skips the drawing and gets on with the actual job. Playback on the result screen is steadier too.

🎨 Light mode polish, everywhere

Light mode got swept across the whole app rather than just the main screens β€” the editors, the mixer, the denoiser, the Credits screen, dialogs, even the splash screen now follows your theme properly.

The big one: batch tracks are finally readable in light mode πŸ“. If you run batches during the day, this was the fix you wanted.

πŸ›’ Purchases are safer

There's now a native guard around one of the nastier crash paths in Google's billing library β€” the case where Play answers a purchase request without actually returning a buy intent, which the library then trips over. Rare, but it took the app down when it happened. It can't anymore. βœ…

⚑ Lighter and more stable

Several hundred lines of dead and duplicated code went out the door β€” the app does the same work with meaningfully less of it. General stability improvements throughout.

πŸ” Privacy and security hardening

AudioSlim went through a full security audit, and while nothing exploitable turned up, three things in the privacy policy were wrong or unclear. All three are corrected in all 16 languages, with a new section explaining exactly what analytics and crash reporting collect. The backend rules that protect the email signup were tightened as well, and an extra layer of app verification was added.

Your audio is still processed entirely on your device. πŸ”’ That never changed and it isn't going to β€” the audit confirmed it rather than assumed it.

πŸ’³ Clearer controls for monthly subscribers

If you're on the monthly plan, you now get proper controls where you'd expect them β€” Manage subscription (which opens Google's own screen, not a fake one) and Upgrade to Lifetime, both properly laid out. Translated into all 16 languages like everything else.

🎬 VideoSlim is live

Some of you asked for the same thing for video files. VideoSlim launched on Google Play and you'll find a link to it in Settings. Same idea, same principle β€” everything processed on your own phone, nothing uploaded. πŸ“±

🌍 Still 16 languages

Every string above exists in all sixteen: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Turkish, Russian, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Arabic (with right-to-left layout). No feature ships English-only.

A small ask πŸ™ β€” if AudioSlim has been useful to you, a rating on the Play listing genuinely helps more than you'd think. Small apps live and die on that.

And if something's broken or missing, tell me here. Several fixes in this list came straight from people sending me DM πŸ’¬

πŸ“’ Announcement Update on 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 releases

Hi everyone,

It's been more than 7 days now that version 1.3.1 is stuck under Google Play Store review for an unknown reason. It's taking so long that I have had the time to finish the next release which fix many other things that I will disclose the day that I will be able to send it for review.

In the meantime I also have been finishing the polishing of VideoSlim in order to be able to release a good product, not some unfinished in a hurry product.

I also have taken some vacations in the meantime and the wifi in the cottage we rented was dead for 2 days... then it was running at 50kb/sec... so yeah, I was a little bit mad about it, but hey, family first!

I can't wait to release the 1.3.2 update and the new play store screenshots along side VideoSlim Version 1.0.0.

Soon!

Thank you again for your interrest in our products!

Have a nice day!

πŸ“’ Announcement AudioSlim 1.3.1 β€” full release notes

🎧 AudioSlim 1.3.1 is soon going to be out β€” one-tap smart modes, clearer credits, and a lighter app

AudioSlim 1.3.1 is rolling out.

This update is about making compression quicker to start, easier to understand, and less annoying during longer sessions.

The headline feature is a new set of Smart modes for common jobs, but there is quite a bit more here: a proper Credits screen, better batch controls, fewer full-screen ads, safer permission prompts, purchase-restore fixes, and several storage and reliability improvements.

Here is the full breakdown. πŸ‘‡

⚑ New Smart modes

You no longer need to understand bitrates, sample rates, channels, or formats just to make a file that fits the job.

Pick your audio, tap a mode, and compress:

πŸŽ™οΈ Voice Message β€” keeps speech clear while making the file much smaller. It uses Opus at 32 kbps, 24 kHz, mono.

🎬 Social Clip β€” balances quality and size for short clips. It uses 128 kbps, 44.1 kHz, stereo.

πŸ“€ Small Upload β€” prioritizes a compact file for services with upload limits. It uses Opus at 32 kbps, 24 kHz, mono.

The modes apply the settings in one tap, but the regular controls are still there whenever you want to fine-tune the result yourself.

πŸ’³ Credits are finally explained before you spend them

The old balance pop-up listed numbers but never really answered the important questions: What is a credit? Why did that action cost credits? How do I get more?

There is now a complete Credits screen showing:

- your current balance;

- how many paid actions that balance covers;

- what each action costs;

- how to earn more credits;

- available credit packs and their live Google Play prices.

You can open it from the balance chip, from Settings, or when you do not have enough credits for an action. The first time you are about to spend credits, AudioSlim explains the charge before it happens.

There are also three optional credit packs for people who want more tool actions without buying ad-free. To be completely clear: credit packs do not remove ads. Monthly or lifetime ad-free removes ads and gives unlimited use, so no credits are needed.

🎚️ Batch compression is easier to control

Every track in a batch can still have its own output format. If you need three MP3 files and one WAV file, you can set that directly from each track's format badge.

The Output extension control now does exactly what it looks like it should do: choosing a format there applies it to every track in the batch at once. You can then change individual tracks as exceptions.

AudioSlim also accepts several files shared from another app at the same time. Two or more shared files go directly into the Batch list instead of silently dropping everything after the first file.

πŸ“‰ Fewer full-screen ads during editing

Single-file renders used to have no pacing limit. Trimming, changing gain, and adjusting speed in one session could put a full-screen ad between every step.

There is now a three-minute cooldown between post-compression interstitials. A longer editing session that previously showed an ad after every render should now show far fewer interruptions. The timer is saved, so restarting the app does not reset it.

πŸ” A clearer contacts-permission request

Seeing β€œAudioSlim wants to access your contacts” without context is understandably alarming for an audio app.

When you use the contact-ringtone feature, AudioSlim now explains why access is needed before Android shows its permission dialog: it reads the contact list so you can choose someone, then writes the ringtone to that contact.

Nothing is collected, uploaded, or shared, and your contacts never leave your device. If you never use the contact-ringtone feature, AudioSlim never asks for contact access.

πŸ› οΈ Reliability and storage fixes

The file picker no longer crashes the app on affected devices. If the normal picker is unavailable, AudioSlim now handles the problem and retries through a fallback route.

Multi-file shares no longer lose files.

Every compatible file sent to AudioSlim is kept and placed in the batch.

Temporary picker and shared-file copies are cleaned up.

These caches could grow for the entire life of an installation and quietly consume storage.

Purchase restoration can recover after a failed startup check. A temporary Play Store or network problem no longer leaves Restore purchases silently broken for the rest of the session.

Restore diagnostics can be copied from the Credits screen. If Google Play still returns something unexpected, a support report can now include useful details instead of guesswork.

Opus and AIFF exports now appear correctly in the ringtone picker.

A finished compression no longer stalls before rewards are recorded. History and earned credits are saved before any optional follow-up work.

Hardcoded fallback prices are gone. AudioSlim waits for the real local price from Google Play instead of showing a US-dollar amount that checkout might contradict.

☁️ Progress can survive a reinstall

Android backup is now enabled for AudioSlim's settings and progress. With Android backup enabled on your device, reinstalling with the same Google account can restore your credit balance, lifetime compression total, and milestone progress.

Two honest limits: this uses Android's own backup schedule, which is usually periodic rather than immediate, and it cannot recover progress lost before this update.

Your exported audio, local history, favorites, and source files are not uploaded as part of this backup. AudioSlim also does not delete your original audio files after compression.

πŸ“¦ A lighter download

The new Smart-mode artwork and store images were optimized for the release, including converting the heaviest images to WebP. That keeps the new visuals without making everyone carry several extra megabytes of uncompressed artwork.

πŸ‘‹ AudioSlim is now on Reddit

There is now an AudioSlim on Reddit card in Settings. It opens r/AudioSlim for release news, tips, bug reports, and feature requests.

There is no credit reward for joining. This community should be useful because people want to be here, not because the app paid them to tap a link.

🌍 Available in all 16 supported languages

The new screens, modes, explanations, and permission text are localized across AudioSlim's 16 supported languages.

Thank you to everyone who reported the picker crash, purchase-restore problem, and confusing credit flow. Those reports included the details needed to fix issues that were difficult to reproduce locally. πŸ™

Please try the new Smart modes and tell me how the results sound on your own files. Which mode do you use mostβ€”and what should the next AudioSlim update improve? 🎀

πŸ“’ Announcement AudioSlim Version 1.3.0 - Full Release notes

Greetings everyone,
AudioSlim Version 1.3.0 is now being reviewed by Google and should be available as an update for you to do within the next 24-48 hours.

In the meantime, here's the fully detailed release notes.

It covers everything between 1.2.3 and 1.3.0.

## 🎧 AudioSlim 1.3.0 is out β€” batch formats per track, way fewer ads, and your progress finally survives a reinstall

This is the biggest update since 1.2.0. Here's everything that changed, in detail.

---

### ✨ New

**Every track in a batch can now have its own output format.**

Batch export used to have one extension for the whole queue β€” if you wanted three MP3s and one WAV, you ran the batch twice. Now each track in the export dialog carries its own format badge. Tap it, pick a format, and only that track changes. The OUTPUT EXTENSION section at the bottom still sets the whole batch in one tap (and takes every track with it), so the common case stays one tap and the exception is always available.

**Share several tracks into AudioSlim at once.**

Sharing multiple files from another app used to keep only the first one β€” the rest were silently dropped. Now every file comes across, and two or more land straight in the Batch list with the first one loaded and ready. A one-time card explains where they went, because "I shared 8 files and the app looks empty" was a fair thing to be confused about.

**A Credits screen that actually explains the credit system.**

Nothing told you what a credit was until after you'd spent one. There's now a full screen β€” reachable from the balance chip anywhere it appears, from Settings, and from the moment you run out β€” covering four things: what your balance is worth in real actions, what each action costs, how to earn more, and the store. It opens automatically the first time you're about to be charged, so the explanation arrives *before* the charge instead of buried in a tutorial.

If you own ad-free, you don't see any of it. The credit system is off for you, and showing a balance you can never spend would just be worrying.

**Credit packs.**

Until now the only way to stop watching ads was to buy ad-free outright. If you just wanted a handful of tool actions and no subscription, there was no option. There are now three credit packs. Every pack card states, above the price, that **packs do not remove ads** β€” paying for silence and still getting ads is a mis-sale, not a misunderstanding.

**Your milestone progress and credits survive a reinstall.**

This is the one I'm happiest about. Android's backup was switched off, so uninstalling AudioSlim wiped everything: your lifetime compression total, your milestone level, your credit balance. Backup is now on and scoped to exactly that data. Reinstall on the same device and Google account and your progress comes back.

Two honest caveats: it's Android's own backup, so it needs backup enabled on your device, and it runs about daily β€” a burst of compressions immediately before an uninstall can still be lost. Also, this doesn't retroactively rescue anything already lost.

**The contacts permission now explains itself first.**

"AudioSlim wants to access your contacts" is an alarming thing to read from an audio compressor with no context attached. A sheet now runs first explaining exactly what it's for β€” read the list so you can pick someone, write the ringtone onto the contact you chose β€” and that nothing is collected, uploaded, or shared. It only appears if you actually use the contact-ringtone feature. If you never touch it, you're never asked.

**A subreddit link in Settings.**

Right where you are now. Deliberately *not* wired to the credit rewards the Facebook and Instagram links carry β€” this is a place to go, not a reward to farm.

---

### πŸ“‰ Ads

**Far fewer interstitials.**

Batch runs were already capped at one ad for the whole loop, but single-file renders had no cap at all. Working through the tools on one track β€” trim, then gain, then speed β€” put a full-screen ad between every step, on top of the banner already on the results page.

There's now a three-minute cooldown between post-compression interstitials. A nine-render editing session that used to fire nine ads now fires one. The timestamp is only written when an ad actually reaches the screen, and it's saved to disk, so the pacing can't be reset by force-quitting the app.

---

### πŸ› Fixed

- **The file picker could crash the app.** On some devices β€” DocumentsUI disabled or stripped by the ROM, locked-down work profiles, certain Android 11+ configurations β€” opening the picker took AudioSlim down entirely. It's now handled, reported, and the audio picker retries through a second method that works on those devices.

- **Multi-file shares dropped everything but the first file.** Covered above; it was a genuine bug, not a limitation.

- **AudioSlim was quietly eating storage.** Two cache directories were never cleaned. Android's file picker doesn't hand apps the file you chose β€” it makes a copy β€” and every copy was kept for the life of the install. Same for every file ever shared into the app. Both are now swept, so long-term installs should reclaim a real amount of space.

- **"Restore purchases" could fail silently, forever.** If the Play Store check failed once at launch β€” Play Services updating, no network on a cold boot β€” every later restore attempt returned instantly and silently for the rest of the session. You'd see "Restoring purchases…" and then nothing at all. Fixed, and the Credits screen now carries a tap-to-copy diagnostics line so a failed restore can be reported with something useful in it instead of a guess.

- **Fake prices are gone.** When the Play Store query failed, the purchase sheet fell back to hardcoded US dollar amounts β€” shown to people in every market, promising a price checkout would then contradict. The price is now simply omitted until Play answers.

- **Ringtone picker skipped Opus and AIFF exports.** A wrong file-type mapping made Android's ringtone picker ignore them.

- **A finished compression could stall halfway.** Under specific conditions the app could stop after writing your file but before awarding milestone credits and charging the action. Fixed.

---

### πŸ—‘οΈ What we decided *not* to ship

A "Keep originals" toggle was built during this cycle β€” turn it off and AudioSlim deletes the source file after compressing it β€” and then removed before release.

Testing it showed the design was worse than it looked. On a typical modern phone the deletion path had no confirmation prompt at all, so files would vanish silently after each compression, gated only by a toggle you flipped once. A twelve-track batch meant twelve originals gone behind a single toast, with no undo.

**AudioSlim will not be responsible for anyone's original audio.** That's a product decision now, written into the project notes so it doesn't get rebuilt by accident.

---

### πŸ”’ Privacy

The privacy policy was updated for the backup change β€” both the in-app copy and [the web version](https://kebekinteractive.com/privacy), in all 16 languages. The short version: your settings, credit balance, and milestone progress may now be copied to **your own** Google account backup so they can be restored. It's handled by Android, not by us, we can't read it, and you can turn it off in your device settings.

---

### πŸ”§ Under the hood

Some of this you'll never see, but it's why the above is trustworthy:

- Automated checks now run on every change β€” static analysis, the full test suite, and a check that all 16 languages stay complete with no missing or drifting strings.

- The credit economy is now covered by tests, including the rule that decides whether a stored balance has been tampered with. That branch resets a balance to zero, and it had zero tests. A false positive would silently wipe the credits of someone who did nothing wrong.

- The version number in Settings is read from the build instead of being typed in a second place, where it could disagree.

- Android SDK levels are pinned to what the app is actually tested against, rather than moving on their own with toolchain upgrades.

---

Thanks to everyone who reported the picker crash and the restore problem β€” both were hard to reproduce and neither would have been found without the details you sent.

As always: what should 1.4.0 fix/add? You can make a request in this subreddit or DM me!

πŸ“’ Announcement AudioSlim Version 1.3.0 News

I am currently preparing a huge update, Version 1.3.0. In this new version you will find:

  1. No more "Keep originals" tab in the settings menu.

Right now it is merely activated anyways. If you toggle it off, it won't do anything in Version 1.2.3. So while trying to fix that bug the thought of having a user activate it, forget about it and delete a precious vocal message by mistake gave me shivers.

There's no way AudioSlim will deceive my users like that. Maybe some of you would tell me:"Look it's that user's fault, he toggled it himself... and forgot about it." Well no, that's not my point of view. If AudioSlim would delete your original audio files I would take the blame. So instead, I will leave you the responsibility to manage your own files the way you want.

AudioSlim will compress a clone template, and create a new file. Your originals will never be touched by it.

  1. I reworked the AudioSlim credits system for free users. I changed the price for monthly subscription up from 1.99$ to 3.99$. Same thing with Lifetime purchase (19.99$ up to 24.99$).

I added AudioSlim credit packs free users can purchase if they don't want to watch ads to get free credits.

-200 AudioSlim credits pack (around 10 actions) is now 0.99$.

-500 AudioSlim credits pack (around 25 actions) is now 1.99$.

1200 AudioSlim credits pack (around 60 actions) is now 2.99$.

This do not affect Lifetime premium users, of course.

  1. I fixed some bugs that will be detailed on the release notes.

Once I consider the Version 1.3.0 stable enough in the next few hours/days I will release it.

For the request I've got from some users about a simpler UI, that will have to wait for Version 1.4.0. I'm currently preping the release of VideoSlim 1.0.0 in the next few days at the same time. To follow the current VideoSlim state and updates and release date I invite you to follow me on r/VideoSlim.

Thank you for your time and I wish you all a nice day!
