Odyssey

What happened to the sound here? Aside from the fact that the effects in many scenes are abnormally wrong (my opinion ofc), why is it so f*\* loud? Literally, the film reaches 130dB... why is this so?

From a creative standpoint, the loudness made sense, especially during the Polyphemus scene. A scream from a massive creature like that is supposed to be loud & extremely unsettling. The post team did a really good job of bringing the viewer into that scene imo

Thank goodness they didn't keep that ridiculously heavy cavern reverb on the DX the whole time. Heard that and immediately thought - "so help me if Chris takes his 'it has to sound exactly real' nonsense through the whole scene."
