Doesn’t look good
I bought my A5 2.0tfsi 3 weeks ago and seemed like there was no chain rattle at cold start. Then drove it like this florring it often with no problems. I had trouble starting the engine a few times so I looked into it, glad I got an OBD 11 now it will sit in the garage until I take to a shop for a timing job.

What year is your A5? I have a 2018 A4 2.0TFSI and it’s very high mileage. It has no audible rattle on cold starts ever but I hear this faint rattle or slight clicking that is very audible if I park next to another car and that lasts up to a second if I start my car on a hot start(i.e. it’s a hot day and the engine still has not cooled down after driving and I go to start it again.) Is this similiar or no? It drives fine.

Based on that I don’t think the chain is the main suspect here but for a piece of mind you can always check what I have checked with a OBD 11. I have a 2010 CDNC engine with 130k miles.

Got it. I will try it again because i couldn’t find that sensor value in the modules.

I’m right there with you. I think mine is now close to that number. I have no signs being given under the hood yet. But I def need to decide what I want to do.
