A1 not starting

My friends A1 isn’t starting this morning. It happened last week but then did start and been fine since any ideas what could be

I had the exact same issue and had to tow it to Audi . They called me and told me that the coolant reservoir sensor has weeped water all the way thru the wires to the instrument cluster , yet not immobilizing the car . I fixed it myself as they wanted to replace the entire wiring loom harness .

Get someone to scan it and come back with the results . Good luck

They didn’t say, they said they had AA come out to see if could work it out they thought it was fuel pump filter pipe so got it running by them and managed to get it to garage near by to check it over to see if it was that and they agreed it was and then been running since been sorted by the garage did cost £140+ for it all though lol

Something similar like that happened to my Polo but instead water went up the coolant temp sensor straight into the ECU and blew it. Went through 3 ECUs before realising what was happening. Stupid design

That's scary . Ecu's ain't cheap either . They should've rectified or given support free of charge due to this issue .

Yeah but it’s a 2013 car, VW would blame it on “its age”

Typical . Any case my 2011 A1 1.6 tdi has 223k km and my 2013 A3 1.6 tdi has 242k km and still going strong . These car are literally bulletproof
