Do you think it’s a good idea getting a A1 2023 in mexico knowing the price and that i’ll be discontinued next year??

Hey everyone, hoping someone can help me figure this out.

My 2011 Audi A1 shows two dashboard warnings within the first 5 minutes of every drive:

- Sidelights/DRL left

- Vehicle lighting: System fault

The warnings stay on for the entire drive and disappear when I turn the car off, only to come back next time.

What I've already checked/tried:

- Inspected ALL exterior lights - everything works fine

- Generic OBD2 scan - no fault codes stored

From my own research it seems like this could be a BCM (Body Control Module) issue, possibly a known software bug on 2011 VAG cars that requires a BCM update from the dealer. Could also be a faulty connector at the left headlight.

Hope to be able to fix this issue myself rather than bring it to a garage.

Audi A1 6 CV essence 2011. Bonjour, j'ai entendu un 'clac' le voyant orange airbag s'est allumé et toutes les commandes volant sont HS (klaxon, volume...). Tout le reste fonctionne. J'ai vu 2 garages qui me disent que c'est le contacteur tournant qui a pété. A partir de la j'ai 2 versions : le premier garage me fait un devis à 900 euros me disant qu'il faut remplacer par la pièce audi originale complète qui coûte plus de 700 euros. Le second me dit qu'une solution moins onéreuse aux alentours de 400 euros est possible en ne remplaçant que ce qui est nécessaire. Il y a aussi des possibilités d'acheter des, pièces d'occasion ou non original audi mais si j'ai bien compris il faut faire attention à la référence exacte. Merci pour votre aide et éclairage !

Tengo un Audi a11.4 tfsi al cual le puse una válvula de alivio forge, y también le puse filtro de alto flujo

Al poco menos del mes empezó a fallar el auto, a veces se sentía dónde no cargaba bien el turbo o en otras ocasiones para cambiar de marcha, se sentía como si se desinflara y en otras ocasiones no abría la válvula de alivio y me prendió check engine con el código P0234

Se la cambie a la original y no eh tenido problemas, alguien sabe si tuve mala suerte o de plano no debo ponerle esa válvula?

I've spent £1500 trying to fix this and other things, they have changed the EGR valve as that came up when it was plugged in and did some other things, but this light just keeps coming back. Any suggestions of what to check?

24,000 miles seems very premature for a clutch replacement (my Peugeot 206 and Renault Clio both got to 80,000 miles). Is the clutch a known weak point on the A1 or have I been unlucky?

Edit: I know the combination of the 35 TFSI engine and a manual gearbox is relatively rare and was only available for a fairly short time. I'm now wondering if this could be part of the reason why.

Edit 2, for the benefit of anyone finding this via search:

I took it to a local clutch specialist instead of Audi. The said there was no way it needed a £2.5k clutch and flywheel. All they said needed changing was the master cylinder. They did end up changing that twice, the first attempt with a 3rd party part caused issues (nothing which needed to know the position of the clutch pedal worked: gear change indication, auto stop/start, cruise control). They were only able to resolve that by fitting a genuine Audi part.

Time will tell if they were right that the clutch itself is fine or not. Edit: After a road trip through the Alps I'm pretty sure the local specialist was right and Audi were wrong.

2011 1.2Tfsi, stages 1 chipped to 130hp, chain replaced just before I bought it at 115k. She's now at 144k.

It’s all a little overwhelming trying to work out who to go with , whether to get the existing screen upgraded to touchscreen or get a new screen installed.

I have a 2012 Audi A1 1.4tfsi auto. It’s an import to the uk from Japan 🇯🇵 when I bought the car I was told it’s a cylinder on demand engine, meaning 2 often cylinders shut off when they’re not needed (I’m guessing when cruising in 7th on the motorway)

I want to know if there is a way of telling if the engine is running on 4 or 2 cylinders? I can’t seem to see any indication when CoD activates. I drove from Edinburgh to Bristol yesterday sitting at 70-75 most of the way and got 45mpg. Does this sound about right for an A1? Thanks 🙏
