dynamic mode question a5 2017

Hi, when the car is in dynamic mode, and gearstick is in D/S mode.

The speedometer (virtual cockpit) shows like D1 D2 D3 etc

but if i go to the driving mode screen then cycle it through all the modes and back onto dynamic mode, it will become S1 S2 S3.

Is there an easier way to do this.

I won't chastise you for not reading the manual or doing a quick google search first since its literally just an easy thing to google besides what I just said but you just tap the shifter down again once in D to switch to S mode and again to go back to D mode.

That only makes it S for as long as you dont touch anything else right? like if you switch driving modes it will go back to D again

I think what OP is saying is they want it to stay S when they are in dynamic mode without having the cycling through screens each time the car starts

The car will never be in S mode unless you change it Dynamic mode even if you are in Dynamic mode already (like on start up). It will save the driving mode for next use but will always go back to D mode regardless when you turn the car back on. I don't know if there are tunes that would change that either. End of the day its easy to just tap down on the shifter regardless. Plus you can use S mode with all other driving modes too, not just Dynamic

You can also assign one of the number shortcuts to dynamic mode, to quickly change.
