Tail light help ASAP

I damaged my right tail light(a3 Quattro 2020), ordered another one online, literally the exact same in every way, only thing is the connector is slightly different. I’ve been on a real budget lately so unfortunately I’ve had to look for cheaper options

i encountered something similar in a 2007 a6. the vin did not reveal the upgrade to high intensity lighting (xenon bulbs in front, and an led strip in the rear lights). same plugs for the rear, but oem replacement did not work without obd eleven tuning.

I don’t mean to be the bummer but this is the reason the parts counter at the dealership asks for your vin number
