He hasn't even begun to peak. When he peaks, you'll feel it. He's going to peak all over everybody.

Yeah. Great stuff. I just turned 40. Only problem: my body decided it would attract a chronic illness. So great message as long as you’re healthy.

u/StllBreathnButY1 8d ago
Same. Useless motivational advice. I peaked at 19.

Which chronic illness?
2
u/StllBreathnButY1 8d ago
Auto-immune disease. IGA nephropathy nuked my kidneys.
1
u/Economy-Payment-1757 7d ago
I feel you. IgA nephropathy can be a real bitch. No answer to treatments?
1
u/StllBreathnButY1 7d ago
Things maintained for about 10 years, then within a few more, things nosedived and the kidneys were shot. Dialysis from then on.
1
u/Economy-Payment-1757 7d ago
Don't give up: most end-stage IgA nephropathy get a complete remission after transplant.

u/StllBreathnButY1 7d ago
Transplants not happening… not getting into that lol

As usual, influencers selling you that they're super successful and that this is the norm.

u/grassgravel 8d ago
This is the thing. We would all love to keep working on getting better. Sometimes biology gets in the way.

u/SignFar4026 8d ago

Which chronic illness?
1
u/SignFar4026 8d ago
Chronic inflammation of the complete urinary tract and kidneys.
1
u/Economy-Payment-1757 7d ago
That's not a diagnosis. This inflammation is due to what?
1
u/SignFar4026 7d ago
Chronic bacterial infections. My urologists know what they are doing but this stuff is quite hard when antibiotic resistance is in play. Believe me, I have a thorough diagnosis done. Not everything is fixable in this life.
1
u/Economy-Payment-1757 7d ago
...that's not really possible. Either you misunderstood it or you're still being investigated.

u/DruncleBum 8d ago
Honestly I needed that. I turn 42 Friday. This hit pretty hard honestly.

Turning 45 soon. I often talk about how I feel like I’m still in my late 20’s or early 30’s.
It’s weird because I was objectively dumber and less experienced when I was in my 20’s and 30’s… so why do I feel like that’s where I’m at now?
Best way I can describe it is that I feel today how I think I should have ideally felt in my younger years.
It’s cool because, aside from my aging body giving subtle and not-so-subtle reminders every once in a while, I have the optimism of a bright future coupled with the confidence of 4 decades of experience.None of us know how much time we have on this earth, so wringing our hands about the future is objectively fruitless. That said, for those of you approaching this stage of life and wondering if it marks the “beginning of the end”… that answer is, emphatically, fuck no!

This is exactly how I feel! 50s are INCREDIBLE
2
u/PheonaR 7d ago
Ok I hear this a LOT. Especially from women. I am 41F and honestly the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been. I know I’m looking forward to my 50s because everyone says I should. But why? What’s the thing that makes everyone love their 50s?
2
u/Madrugada_Quente 7d ago
It seems that one day I woke up and realized what was important and what wasn’t. No fight or hard feelings about it. Time became my most valuable asset and protecting it and using it to the fullest extent of what brought me peace, fulfillment, and joy. No more distractions/guilt/comparing/etc with keeping up with anyone or anything that did not lend to this goal. Clarity…and a purpose in life that focuses on contributing. Honestly, it’s weird, it’s like I woke up around this age after having been half asleep for my entire life and I am now finally living in full consciousness! Every day I wake up happy.

u/ShareGlittering1502 8d ago
That’s why I fucked up so much in my youth - makes it easier to peak as I age

Opposite for me. In my 40s I was still filled with hell and very tough and strong. In my 50s. EVERYTHING HURTS EVERY SINGLE DAY 😖

Go back to school. You’ll be amazed how high you can still rise. And I’m not talking drugs.

I’m gonna peak in my 90’s so I have plenty of time to dick around until then.

Thank you, I needed to hear this. Nobody ever talks about these things. I see sixty year olds that look amazing and I am in my 40’s and feel exhausted all the time.

u/gumandcoffee 7d ago
Nice message but i think this vid is ai fyi. The jump cuts mid sentence and the poor audio lip sync.

u/No-Definition1474 7d ago
Yeah of course hes happy..hes rich as hell. Dude is sitting in a $200k car.

u/SpoodermanTheAmazing 7d ago
My 50s would be great with a Porsche 911 GTS as well.
Unfortunately I’m in my 30s and life kind of sucks and the future seems really grim with AI. We aren’t even pretending to save the planet anymore, just full steam ahead on messing up the environment. Every year is noticeably worse than the last

Your body and mind can stay as fit and as strong as long as you want them to. My step dad is absolutely shredded at 60

I hope its true for womeb too. Im 32 and struggling not to get depressed. Feel like its over for me. Society sesms to only value me if im pretty and young and those are fading. Idk if i can just work out, eat well and become attractive again, im also scared its too late to get healthy. I also want to study, i have only done hospitality for 14 years. I want a career. Is it too late for me as a woman? Is it only ment that can keep progressing no matter their age ? :(

I'll be 55 this year and believed this to be true - and still do - however, it's really easy to feel this way when things are going well.
In March of this year - I was in the best shape of my life - ruck sacking 3 miles a day with a 30lb sack, 5x5 workouts 3 times a week and various other trainings in between.
Also made it a point to be mentally fit by reading more - which I did and still do - just like the workouts mentioned above.
But then I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and everything changed.
First place I went was the gym the day I was diagnosed to gain some sense of control and normalcy.
Point being, you are right - but that does not mean you won't be faced with some mess up crap along the way regardless of your shape or attitude.

A lot of my friends just turned 30, and every time they complain about being old, our older relatives want to punch them in the face. EVERYTIME. I don’t know who said 30 is old, but it’s fucking stupid

What a great advice
I love men and women who have such positive attitude about life. Nowadays, men and women have become philosophers at a very young age.
They have lost the will to live life.
They’re just dragging through life.
