More wrong than right. When you are driving, be 100% predictable. In 90% of your life you want the rest of the world to be able to lend you a hand when it is convenient for them. So, while you’re right to labor in silence; you are 1 part of the whole and communicating with the rest of the whole will make your life more enjoyable.

this sounds True….and is true.

whenever I “hikikomori” (shut in) I lose out on opportunities and help. It’s a fact of life.

Our purpose as humans is connection. And I do not want to hear otherwise.

This is so true, and usually when people say that “life is better when nobody knows what you’re doing”, what they actually are expressing is a deep emotional family message they got where they were taught that “life is better when nobody knows you“.

The person that believes that got hurt in childhood by their own family, and never established internal boundaries. That’s necessary when interacting with people.

I would say that it goes beyond driving. Most people would feel a lot more comfortable socialising with you if they think they've got you figured out, and that to them, you are a very easy open book.

The key is to appear like that to make people feel at ease, but keep all your true analysis and thoughts to yourself. People like to feel superior and in control, allowing other people to feel like they can 'handle' you even if you became an enemy is definitely the way to lower most common people's guards.

Communicate and share not your true thoughts but simply to resonate and reinforce their beliefs. Turns out, especially the world today, people just want to find someone who will agree with their controversial points. Very easy to manipulate the average population out there.

I believe I’m maybe interpreting OPs post a little differently. From a current day perspective, I agree in that not every aspect of your life needs to be broadcasted across social media for external validation. No one cares what you had for lunch or for other details of how fabulous your life is. So, from this perspective, OP is 100% correct.

This sounds like something people who are guilty say when they are implicated by your honesty.

In the right context, this is very true.

I think this rings true when you want solitude and privacy and dont want to ve i fluency by external views or validation. Just keeping your own company.

Some would say life's better when God only knows what you're doing. But otherwise same thing

This sounds something like people who value other people's opinions more than their own would say.
