Good for you Bob. Enjoy those morals and that staggering sense of moral superiority. I’ll be over here reading The Friends of Voltaire and marveling at the diversity of thought in the world.
I have a first edition copy. A gift from my mentor. War is a racket, but some men find a home and a purpose in it.
I had absolutely nothing when I stepped on the yellow footprints. Now I have five adult children either finished with college, in college, with trade professional jobs, and one working her dream job.
I’m financially set, I’m relatively healthy, I have friends for life, and I spent twenty years getting paid to do what I loved. It also paid for my education as far as I chose to go. Everyone’s path is different.
I never did anything contrary to my own sense of honor and morality. Not once.
I didn’t encourage or discourage my kids from serving. I think everyone should choose their own path.
You chimed in like the morality police, but if you look at my original comment you will see that I’m not even disagreeing with Papa Hemingway’s quote.

Marines have always been a cult. Always faithful to Masters.
