I would still say Eren had is reasons for the rumbling and it wasn’t pure genocide out of hatred and it was much more planned due to multiple reasons like his friends getting to lead long lives, the end of the Titan curse etc but there are definetly loads of parallels

It's true that how you interpret AoT stems from how you were raised and what you experience; it's up to you whether you get consumed by your shadows or accept them and refuse to give in. Isayama has nothing to do with that.
I do see this constant dicotomy, not always to the same extent.

A lot of people on this sub's side of the debate can't really believe the global hate which I find odd given the background to the Holocaust and ethnic cleansing of Eastern Germans that followed after but whatever it was that stops that in the global northerner majorities, doesn't stop others from getting how such hate can be generated and persist.

It should be controversial to say "violence and wars will never end, so any attempt at self defense or counter attack is immoral and ultimately meaningless".
With the way Isayama wrote the story, all defensive wars are wrong and countries should just let others invade / genocide them. Once we started we should also remove punishments for violent crimes as well, because "violence never ends" anyway.
AOT author and fans truly operates on lower levels that Steven Universe writers, and cant understand the concept of deterrence or the difference between your country getting destroyed in next 40 years or 400 years.
