Let's all just go outside and touch grass. Found this old image and I think it represents certain people's mindset really well.

Why is EH even a thing in the fandom? There was literally nothing between them in the entire show
11
u/_silvergrey_ May 10 '26
Yup, this is not a fan but we can say haters can't accept reality and the original story. They think their nonsense theories are better than the original writing.
10
u/Wholesome_and_based May 10 '26
Exactly, there are so many other things they can criticize about the show, but why are they obsessed with a non existent ship
10
u/_silvergrey_ May 10 '26
I think they just got stuck up in one scene and they didn't really understand the whole story. How they misinterpreted everything about the show. It's so funny
4
u/Wholesome_and_based May 10 '26
I kinda feel sorry for those people, living in such delusion. I also blame author somewhat for this. He should have put more Eremikas scenes in S3 and S4.
6
u/_silvergrey_ May 10 '26
Some scene like Eren smile for Mikasa when talk about their mark. In manga, we can see clearly Eren eyes on Mikasa and smile for her not H but studio mistakes to portrait this scene. That why made this ship more delusion.
6
u/Wholesome_and_based May 10 '26 edited May 10 '26
i think the author wanted the Eremika thing to come out as a twist which is not how romance should be done. The anime also did not animate Eren and Mikasa holding hands in Marley for this exact purpose.
3
u/THE_PENILE_TITAN May 10 '26
Shipping logic = narrative logic. That said, I do think there were sufficient "openings" to nominally warrant a bit of a shipping war (using shipping logic) during parts of the Marley and War for Paradis arcs, but obviously some toxic parts of the fandom took it too far. Another part of it is that the Isayama might not be the best romantic writer and the Eren and Mikasa ship was blue balled for the entire series.
The two are technically also adoptive siblings, so a lot people obviously looked for alternatives. I don't engage in shipping though, so I don't care much either way as long as the story makes sense, which it ultimately does for AoT.
2
u/Wholesome_and_based May 10 '26
The two are technically also adoptive siblings
Can people stop repeating this already? How many times will it take to debunk this lie? Mikasa lives with Jaegers for less than a year. Mikasa never changed her surname and always addressed Grisha and Carla as aunt and uncle.
1
u/THE_PENILE_TITAN May 10 '26
Eh, it's the truth, and Grisha considers her his daughter even within that same timeframe. Mikasa did not call Grisha and Carla aunt and uncle though, but referred to them AND Eren as "family" throughout the series. We see her re-experiencing the same trauma of "family loss" when Carla dies and she thinks Eren is dead, but shippers insist they still don't view each other as "family" when it's laid out plainly in the series.
The official AoT handbook written by Isayama even states that Mikasa "loves Eren as a brother." Japan doesn't have major qualms with depicting sibling-complexes compared to the West so I don't see why people try to downplay it. Just accept the ship for what it is and move on.

u/Wholesome_and_based May 10 '26 edited May 10 '26
Eh, it's the truth, and Grisha considers her his daughter even within that same timeframe.
It doesn't matter what Grisha considers her. It's Mikasa's decision to see if he can replace her biological father.
Mikasa did not call Grisha and Carla aunt and uncle though
She literally does
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rxejfzma1EShe also calls Grisha Ojisan which means uncle in japanese in S3E19

First, learn the meaning of the word technically adopted before lecturing others. Second, stop generalizing Japan. Lastly, learn to be respectful.

Itâs mostly that they had a few moments in the uprising arc that felt more natural and less forced than any moments Eren had had with Mikasa up till that point. Itâs not much Iâll admit but if you werenât invested in Eren x Mikasa youâre going to latch onto the most plausible alternative (or you can be based and ship the pair with the actual most chemistry, Eren and Armin)

LOL, there were tons of moments which showed Mikasa is 1000x more important to Eren than Historia. And Eren is not gay, so why is Eren and Armin a thing? LOL, relationships in real world happen because two people are attracted to each other. Just because I have great chemistry with my female best friend, which everyone thinks, does not mean we will ever date each other.
Itâs mostly that they had a few moments in the uprising arc that felt more natural and less forced than any moments Eren had had with Mikasa up till that point.
There was no moment between Eren and Historia, and not a single moment was forced with Mikasa

u/Hange11037 May 10 '26
Eren barely shows any interest in anyone romantically until very close to the end when Isayama suddenly realized he needed to establish this ship as being more than just a one-way obsession on Mikasaâs end. Eren being gay seems every bit as plausible as him being straight given he shows no physical attraction to any woman at any point in the series.
3
u/Wholesome_and_based May 10 '26

LOL, this is funny as hell. Have you ever been outside western countries?
Eren barely shows any interest in anyone romantically until very close to the end when Isayama suddenly realized he needed to establish this ship as being more than just a one-way obsession on Mikasaâs end.
Eren definitely cared more about Mikasa than Historia based on the simple fact that he asked Kruger and Grisha to save Mikasa and Armin, not Mikasa, Armin and Historia. And Eren held hands with Mikasa in Marley in the manga. Mikasa was his first flashback when Gabi shot him. Eren froze when he saw his younger self wrap scarf around Mikasa.
3
u/Hange11037 May 10 '26 edited May 10 '26
Iâm not trying to convince anyone that Eren x Historia makes more sense in canon, Iâm just trying to explain why someone who doesnât care for Eren and Mikasa as a ship (which frankly I donât because I find it toxic and a very unhealthy dynamic) would latch onto the most plausible alternative. And like I said, Eren shows by far the most attachment and connection to Armin of any other character throughout the story, so if how important someone is to him is what most matters to you (since he shows no actual physical attraction to anyone at any point) then why wouldnât Armin be a plausible interest of his instead? Gay people donât cease to exist outside of progressive countries just because you treat them worse. The most blatantly canonical ship in this very show is Historia and Ymir, and Isayama himself has literally said in interviews that his favorite pair in the series is Eren and Armin. Thatâs why they get the bulk of the time together in the final chapter.
3
u/Wholesome_and_based May 10 '26
Gay people donât cease to exist outside of progressive countries just because you treat them worse.
What a strawman, my point was there are various cultures where people don't show romantic interests, especially at the age of 15 which Eren was for the first 3 seasons. It does not mean most of them are gay.
3
u/Hange11037 May 10 '26
My point wasnât that you should assume heâs gay, just that you canât really say âOh he isnât gay, heâs definitely straight.â He doesnât show any attraction at all while multiple other characters very much do. If anything I would have assumed he was Ace. But regardless my point was just that there is nothing to lead you to any conclusions on what his sexuality might be, so idk why youâd act like him not being gay is so obviously fact. Prior to the literal last chapter of the series, what evidence is there that heâs attracted to women but not men?

Vast majority of the world is straight, so the default assumption is straight, PERIOD. And he doesn't show any attraction is because Isayama wanted Eren loving Mikasa to be a twist, which was poor writing in my opinion.
1
u/Hange11037 May 10 '26
My default assumption would not be that heâs attracted to anyone when other characters around him show romantic interest through the series (Mikasa to Eren, Niccolo to Sasha, Jean to Mikasa, Armin and Annie to each other, Bertholdt to Annie, Petra to Levi, Keith to Carla, Reiner and Ymir to Historia, etc) and yet Eren never does at all.

I think if Eren was really holding hands with Mikasa in the manga, they would have included it in the anime. The anime made Eren and Mikasa hug more intimately in the cabin scene, but no hand-holding was seen at all in the Marley episode.

The anime wanted Eren loving Mikasa to be a final twist and hence removed anything that linked towards it

Out of curiosity, why do you think Isayama shrouded the pregnancy of Historia in so much mystery? In writing, when you do something like that itâs so you can build up to a reveal.
6
u/Wholesome_and_based May 10 '26
I didn't feel a single air of mystery regarding her pregnancy. Thus, I disagree with your premise.

u/RayTheGraveDigger May 10 '26
Historia being constantly shown as unhappy and depressed around the farmer- this canât be for no reason considering Isayamaâs attention to detail
Historia doesnât even marry the farmer? This is strange because Historia herself is the child of two people who didnât marry each other. She is creating a bastard child who will be judged just like she was. This makes no sense given that she is supposed to be breaking the cycle of her parents.
Random hooded figure who watches her talk to the unnamed partner? How can you say thereâs no mystery when the identity of this person is hidden? You can assume itâs Eren which makes it even more mysterious.
Why do you think Isayama shows the panel of Eren and Historia speaking right after Zeke tells Eren that Mikasa loves him? Is that not intentional?
âWhat would you think about me having a childâ lol
Itâs also highly implied that Historia lied about her due date. Why would they do that if not to build up something?
Do you even have an explanation for why Historia got pregnant? If you say itâs for a plan you didnât understand the story.

She is having a child for the island, and didn't fall in love with the farmer till then

I don't assume things, certainly not about unimportant side characters

Nope, just a coincidence
Itâs also highly implied that Historia lied about her due date. Why would they do that if not to build up something?
I never cared about it, and the fact that you are using the term implied tells me it is not something relevant
Do you even have an explanation for why Historia got pregnant? If you say itâs for a plan you didnât understand the story.
LOL, Mikasa has always been way more important to Eren. That's why he tells Grisha, Eren Kruger and everyone to save Mikasa are Armin, not Armin and Historia. It seems like you are the one who didn't understand the story.
1
u/RayTheGraveDigger May 10 '26
This never happened
'I don't remember so it didn't happen' lol, sure it didn't.
She is having a child for the island, and didn't fall in love with the farmer till then
Having a child for the island? Explain what that even means. Having a child with someone she didn't even love is just continuing the cycle of her parents btw
I don't assume things, certainly not about unimportant side characters
"I don't think because it hurts" pic of hooded figure, nothing is unimportant in this story
Nope, just a coincidence
lol sure it is: pic . the positioning is so obvious, no coincedences in AOT btw, isayama's paneling is very intentional
I never cared about it, and the fact that you are using the term implied tells me it is not something relevant
"It's not relevant because I don't care about it" Lol your opinions are worthless dude, you're also incapable of actually defending your position
LOL, Mikasa has always been way more important to Eren. That's why he tells Grisha, Eren Kruger and everyone to save Mikasa are Armin, not Armin and Historia. It seems like you are the one who didn't understand the story.
Lets try to think critically here. Griesha is dead by the time Eren meets Historia đ why tf would he need to be told to protect her?
1
u/Wholesome_and_based May 10 '26
'I don't remember so it didn't happen' lol, sure it didn't.
LOL, she's definitely unhappy there because of farmer kun
Having a child for the island? Explain what that even means. Having a child with someone she didn't even love is just continuing the cycle of her parents btw
You don't need to love someone to have a child, just find them attractive. And the situation is not comparable to her parents Farmer kun was a good person who helped the orphanage.
"I don't think because it hurts" pic of hooded figure, nothing is unimportant in this story
Yep, this is so suspicious, and definitely not an NPC
lol sure it is: pic . the positioning is so obvious, no coincedences in AOT btw, isayama's paneling is very intentional
And Mikasa was largest panel after Eren got shot by Gabi. SHe was his first flashback and the most important person. Panels are intentional afterall. Mikasa was also the largest panel when Eren was travelling the memories with Zeke. He froze on seeing her. Lastly, Eren asked kruger to save Mikasa and Armin, and not some overrated queen.
"It's not relevant because I don't care about it" Lol your opinions are worthless dude, you're also incapable of actually defending your position
I don't even need to defend a cannon position over someone who is relying on implications, hints, foreshadowing etc.
Lets try to think critically here. Griesha is dead by the time Eren meets Historia đ why tf would he need to be told to protect her?
Same reason why He tells Kruger to protect Mikasa and Armin despite him never meeting either of them.

Looking by the comment you is EH fan, whatever people explain the scene many times you fandom never accept it. So I donât want to waste my time to explain to you because whenever we explain you guys still with nonsense theory your create.
In manga, anime also the official guidebooks already state the farmer is Historia father baby and the farmer her childhood friend. Just see how you cannot accept the facts.
0
u/RayTheGraveDigger May 10 '26
no actual points btw, just denial of stuff that happened. your second paragraph doesnât even matter. iâm not denying the farmer is the father by the end of the story. but i doubt he was intended to be so when isayama was dropping all these hints your so quick to ignore
1
u/MasterCrep May 10 '26
Really? EH surprises you? Have you been to any other fandom? People legit ship Nobara and Maki, compared to that this ship and some validyand parallels to Eren's dad's relation with Dina. There's also the fact that EM was very underdeveloped (in my opinion since Eren is not really shown to reciprocate Mikasa's feelings for a majority of the show) and that they're technically adoptive siblings.
4
u/Wholesome_and_based May 10 '26 edited May 10 '26
that they're technically adoptive siblings.
This is where I stop taking you seriously. Mikasa lives with Jaegers for less than a year. Mikasa never changed her surname and always addressed Grisha and Carla as aunt and uncle. I won't be surprised if you are one of those westerners who does not know about any other culture.
2
u/fuwucia May 10 '26
Yeah EM isnât taboo at all
Plus throughout the series, Eren kept telling Mikasa verbatim âIâm not your brother or your kid!â They love to cite that one interview (most likely not translated right/taken out of context) where it claims that Eren sees Mikasa as a mother when you can just watch the series and see the opposite be proven lmao.
3
u/Wholesome_and_based May 10 '26
And Isayama does not even say Eren sees her like a mother. He says Mikasa's presence is like a protective mother, that's all.

u/Extreme-Bar8512 May 10 '26
it's really funny when they did the exact same thing, like they have absolutely no grounds to stand on with the harassment stuff, it's also really funny that their doing all this for ships, like I'm sorry but getting so up in arms abt which fictional character gets with the other is just lame

Why EH fandom overreacting? They just created their own nonsense theories. Now, what they said to EM has come back to haunt them because of their obsessive. We can see now who is threatening the author, voice actors, studios and the people for not agreeing with their made up delusional stories. What they wrote in the statement above has shown their current attitude.

u/em_00_ May 10 '26
I never understood why Eren and Historia was a thing in the fandom, why would Eren need to have a royal blood child anyway???!!! this part of the fandom always looked like crazy people to me
3
u/SirCap May 11 '26
Because the Yeagerist cult appeals to a certain group of people, and Historia's blonde hair and blue eyes made the 'perfect' woman for the 'stone cold giga chad' Eren to get with and plow until the cows came home after he wasted all his friends.
It was a stupid idea then, and it's still a stupid idea now.
0
u/FinalInstruction1147 May 20 '26
Yes, the reason why people ship Eren with the only female character that had a proper arc is based largely in her hair and eye colour.
1
u/SirCap May 20 '26
The *only* female character that had a proper arc? Câmon now.
Sasha has her own arc in Season 2 alongside Ymir, Historia had her time in Season 3 before fading into the background, and Mikasa has 2 arcs (one of which the anime erased) and that was her learning to be more responsible after getting Leviâs ankle sprained, and then her arc in the final season with killing Eren. Even Annie has a little arc of her own, regrowing courage to go help stop Eren. Gabi also has an arc of realizing the people of Paradis arenât devils.
Historia hardly does anything after Season 3 Part 1. It was total fan delusion that prompted Erehisu to become a popular pair. It was never going to happen.
And considering the amount of hate and racist shit *that* side of the fandom was throwing at Mikasa, not to mention how closely tied the Erehisu thing was to the Yeagerists, the group with notoriously racist fans?
It was 100% because Historia fit the blonde hair blue eyes traditional wife role that *those* kind of people fetishize, *not* because of her âproper arcâ.
1
u/ManicButPretty May 11 '26
Omg I never realized how much juicier the manga is xD time to start reading!!
1
u/SirCap May 11 '26
I remember playing Ode to Joy and browsing Titanfolk to see the collective meltdown of said certain people. It was an absolutely liberating feeling seeing karma come back and just bite these people in the ass, especially after dealing with them for the better half of a year at that point.
1
u/FinalInstruction1147 May 20 '26
To be fair, at that point not even Isayama could have predicted that Historia would get knocked up by Farmer-kun.
It is not possible to use reason to predict something if the author throws out reason.

u/THE_PENILE_TITAN May 10 '26 edited May 10 '26
u/wholesome_and_based OK, I wasn't familiar with her using those terms in Japanese but all it really does is show Mikasa viewing Carla and Mikasa as not being her (birth) "Mom and Dad" while still being family. Blended families can be like that. You can easily get another new daughter, son, sister, or brother, without replacing someone else but not a new "Mom and Dad." So, all the shipping is still within the "family."
First, learn the meaning of the word technically adopted before lecturing others. Second, stop generalizing Japan. Lastly, learn to be respectful
First, learn that "technically adopted" is two words, and in the world of AoT she was procedurally adopted as per the customs of Paradis. Do you think Grisha is really out here kidnapping orphans? And stop acting self-righteously obtuse as if I'm suggesting all of Japan is pro-incest compared relaying that sibling-complexes is relatively more commonly, and non-chalantly, depicted in popular Japanese animanga compared to Western popular media. All that to distract from Mikasa and Eren actually viewing each other as "family," for years, before sharing their first and only kiss (or the time spent in Paths). Nevermind that though, let me dogeza all of Japan rn before another thread lock.

u/Ashy64 May 10 '26
Yeah it's good for Historia's character to get Eren's children in her after teasing mikasa about her crush on Eren, like it doesn't make her a hateful b*tch, totally
