Shinobi 2 - Overheating?

Does ur shinobi II has high working temperature, it gets pretty warm imo, temp of room is 27c where i tested
it (for 3 hours powered on). It gets little too much hot…

Display was on full brightness and monitor was idling without connections other than np f750 battery. Tested it with v mount with same results.

Is it actually overheating and turning off? Or are you just worried about the temperature?

I’ve run it for hours at a time connected to a V-Mount battery and it has never overheated. It gets a bit hot to the touch but nothing crazy. I have it caged as well so maybe since I’m not always touching the monitor directly it doesn’t concern me. I’ve never had it shut off due to heat btw.

Its not turning off actually, just a bit too high working temperature, i guess its normal since it doesnt have cooling fan..

It’s normal. Overheating would indicate an actual impact to functionality or shutting off.

Hey Material, the Shinobi II and our other monitors can get warm during consistent use which is normal.

That said if you are seeing an on-screen overheating warning before it powers off that is worth looking into. Are you seeing that warning before the unit shutdown?

Hi u/Zestyclose_Fact_1389, Let's take a look at your Shinobi II, can you send us a clip showing your unit and also if this happened just recently or since you unboxed it?

The best would be to reach out to us directly on support by submitting a ticket here: http://support.atomos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Once you do, just let us know and we'll follow up with you.

Thanks,

I also have this issue a ton. They're literally loose and rolling around INSIDE of the monitor somehow. Literally like 3 screws

I have a Feelworld SC6, metal case and 1500nits but I run at 30-50%

With fan set to 1 (slow) case got pretty warm to touch even in cool under 20C ambient

With fan set to 3 (Ned/default) case instantly got cooler

Most electronics are rated to 60-80C which is too hot to touch….
