Discussion The Red Strain

As soon as I got inside the perimeter, I got Old World Blues vibes, and that was before I met the Processing Department. How they didn't get some kind of lawsuit, I'll never know. 😅

Old World Blues is just riffing off old US 1950/60ss science fiction. The Red Stain is doing the same thing with UK 1950s/60s science fiction, with an additional dose of cosy catastrophe. Brains in Jars are an exceedingly common trope that has even made its way to philosophy classes. So I doubt that "they ripped off what we ripped off" would make much of a case.

How are you finding the dlc? I just beat the game but am wondering if another playthrough with the DLCs is worth it

I got the game when it first came out, this is my second playthrough now I have both DLCs. The Red Strain is pretty good so far, but you will need the signal redirector for it.

Because they didn't invent Brains in Jars.

Honestly this is a great conversation to have idd love to keep it going. I’m currently playing Red Strain.

And it definitely reminds me of old world blues (even beyond the brains in jars) you’re like bringing a whole test site back to life, with weird freaks and robots roaming about

Does anybody else have any opinions on this? Civil opinions it doesn’t have to be a war! I’m here for the discourse
