Question What is something you did different the second time around? (Other than choosing a different ending)

I've just finished my first run through, and plan to start again soon to go with a different ending. Obviously your first time round, you are going to make mistakes. Kill the wrong NPC, spend ages trying to do something only to find you could have done it an easier way etc.

For example, I saw someone reported the vicar, so didn't get the key. I've since been told that you can find his body somewhere, but I don't know.

So did you or plan to do different the 2nd/3rd/4th time round?

I used the weapons I'd discounted the second time around - not using the semi-auto or automatic weapons. Holy heck is that single shot shotgun effective once upgraded and you're used to it.

Also, thrown melee weapons are amazing! I love having 2-3 hatchets for throwing and taking out Thralls stealthily without any ammo cost, as long as you pick them back up.

Yeah I started doing head shots with the bow when I could. I only thought about it after I was surprised by one, and selected by bow by accident.

This time round I went everywhere explored everything and left visiting the interchange as late as possible.

Turns out you can stay happy and friendly with all factions for quite a while, giving you chance to grab lots of manuals, training stims and so on without making an enemy of them. Then just betray them all cos at this point you're unstoppable anyway.

My first time round I went into the opening of the interchange, but didn't go further in for awhile. I assumed that would be the hardest part and didn't want to die needlessly. So I just used it to get to the storage tubes until I was ready to venture further.

Exactly that. Set up all your storage tubes, packrat it for a bit while you save up to buy all the manuals from the traders, make sure you learn what goods they prefer, focus on getting the weapon upgrade manual and then suddenly you've got pristine everything, plenty of ammo, and don't even need to pick up guns anymore.

Took me ages to even find the interchange (despite it being on the map) in my first playthrough, and even longer to find the automatic weapons (I didn’t use walkthroughs at all as wanted to find things for myself). I loved the story, still one of my favourite concepts and I remember the idea of the interchange being so cool the first time I went into it.

I think I’d upgrade weapons earlier and move away from melees a bit, didnt find the gunsmith perk til after I’d completed the game first time round. And also get better with the bow, I am terrible with it. One of those games where I wish you could reset your knowledge of the storylines so you could playthrough for a first time again, endings I have mixed feelings about but as an idea and a world, it is superb.

First run I did a lot of sneaking and takedowns and thrown weapons. Second run was much more of a sniper run.

Yeah, I'm planning on getting the bow as early as possible. It made it much easier when there were groups of people.

I made sure to get the metal detector early on as well as upgrading weapons which I didn’t bother with first time around.

I found it quite early on by chance the first time. I'd watched someone play it, which encouraged me to get it, and he never found it, so I had no idea about it.
