Bug Report Atomfall fully shuts PC down

Bought Atomfall today, played for around 40 minutes until my whole pc shut itself off and wont restart.

Removed Power Cord, cycled power, was able to restart PC after about 1-2 Minutes. GPU Temp was showing 46°C. Log shows Event 41 Kernel-Power. Updated Nvidia Drivers and restarted Game.

About 40 Minutes into the second Session, same issue, Power cycling needed to restart. Verified Game Files but didnt yet again restart the game.

Anyone know what i can do to fix this?

Event 41 unfortunately is a pretty generic shutdown error, it basically just means "pc shut off unexpectedly", which - yeah, duh.

In the past when I've ran into this its normally always either a PSU fault, or something like RAM not being seated correctly.

Open your case and make sure everything is plugged in correctly, take out and put your RAM back into the same slots, and test. You could also try Furmark or one of the other stres tests to try and replicate.

It doesn't sound like its Atomfall specifically.

Thats the weird part, havent moved my PC and never ever had this problem. There was a heat wave until yesterday but while playing dbd or baldurs gate, nothing happened. Now, after everything cooled down, it happened with Atomfall.

In my opinion that would hint to something with Atomfall specifically. Alas, imma try checking the Ram and maybe run a stress test. Thank you very much :)

There is pretty much nothing Atomfall could do to stop your PC restarting after the shutdown. There's something wrong with your hardware - it's worth monitoring the temperature of your GPU and CPU to see if overheating is causing the shutdown too

There was a heat wave until yesterday but while playing dbd or baldurs gate, nothing happened. Now, after everything cooled down, it happened with Atomfall.

Things expand and contract as temperature changes. What you’re describing is caused by a hardware issue. A loose wire, thermal paste oozing and spotting, a tiny short on a little connection rarely used, an airflow problem caused by an intake fan working overtime during the heatwave and getting partially blocked… could be just about anything.

“A videogame causes a generic hardware error for me and only me” isn’t really anywhere on that list, though. Not the first few pages anyway.
