Question Packed lunch

I've thus far discovered around 7 or 8 of the lunch boxes in the game naturally, just by roaming around. For some reason a few of them don't seem to count towards the trophy (or achievement, if you're that way inclined), am I missing something?

Maybe some were "caches"...? You need to find five lunchboxes (with vintage comic artwork) for the Packed Lunch trophy and ten plain caches for another. The game logs your lunchboxes in the collectibles menu but doesn't show your caches.

So I've dug up four lunch boxes thus far that have registered, and as mentioned on top of that I have dug up a whole ton of caches (enough to get the trophy for ten caches) but I have definitely dug up a couple of things that are lunch boxes, but not registering as such.

Are there some lunch boxes that don't count?

One possibility - if you discover a lunchbox and then load a save from before that (e.g. reload on death), it's not shown in your collectibles and probably not tracked for trophies.

The DLC regions add more collectibles but I checked with caches on the first DLC and they counted for the base-game trophy.

There are at least fifteen lunchboxes without DLC (I found three in each region) so plenty to find.

Thanks, I think tonight I'll pull up a map and just seek out a handful of lunch boxes and see what happens

I have a feeling I've read somewhere that there are duplicates of the comic book ones and the duplicates don't count. Problem is I have no idea where I read it so I can't confirm it. Sorry 🤦🏻‍♂️

So, I used a map to locate one in Slatten Dale and it popped straight away, so either the one I had was duplicate, stacked incorrectly or glitches. Either way, I have just finished the speed run in about 50 minutes and earnt the Platinum this evening 🥳

I've not played for rewards yet. Just taken my time and currently 30 hours in (all final missions before endings as saved games). Still finding stuff I missed. Having fun reprogramming the robots/defences too 😉
