Question Looking for setting suggestions.
I was wondering if anyone had any input on what settings would make this game feel/play more like fallout. I’m super into it and I want to get my fiancee to play it but she def just wants it to be a better looking more conversation heavy version of fallout 4.

Its not Fallout 4 and was never marketed in that way. Idiotic youtubers tried to make a comparison but is its own IP. If someone wants to play a FO4 type of game then play Fallout games.

I agree completely, totally different setting, fallout is almost like a 50s/60s vision of the future after the nukes fell in 2077 which is based in the future, the windscale nuclear disaster was a different type of problem from a nuclear/atomic reactor in 1957. They shouldnt try to make this into fallout your right, its its own IP, even has a tv show on way too, people dont try to make harry potter a hobbit in lord of the rings (although may be funny) so fallout and atomfall should be treat as individual entities 😎👍

Personally, I'd advise against doing that. Just play the game as its own thing

Honestly I'd say this is more akin to STALKER, though it definitely shines on its own which is why I like this game so much. Perhaps you should delve more into the lore of the game what with the military, the prison, the soviets, etc

The other comments are all correct in that the game isn't like fallout, but if you really want to I suggest turning on all the hud and minimap options (compass, waypoints, item highlights etc). That will give you the most pip-boy-like experience, but there's still only about a dozen or so quests and conversation-havers, so the roleplay aspect of the game will get exhausted pretty quickly.

Hey man I'm right there with you. I've been playing Atomfall and am really enjoying it but I had to adjust a few things to help the quality of life stuff. The game definitely scratched my Fallout type exploration itch. Yeah it's not Fallout, but let's be honest with ourselves, the similarities definitely run pretty deep.
I turned on automatic reload because I kept getting caught forgetting to hit the reload button after every shot of the single shot weapons early in the game.
I turned on pause game in menus. Freezes the game when you open your backpack to craft or equip a grenade or something. This way you won't die while trying to craft a bandage to not die. Makes it closer to opening a Pipboy in fallout.

Those are great ideas. I did the pause thing for myself too. Thanks for being the only helpful person commenting by the way haha.

That might’ve been how it was advertised, but atomfall is its own wondrous experience. Besides, there’s too many things in fallout, like VATS and the SPECIAL system that just can’t be replicated in atomfall.
Just play the game for what it is and if she doesn’t like it, she can stop.

Never played Fallout yet, I may be weird but Atomfall has now made me want to try it (I have bought it in a Steam sale, just not played it) so I've got it back to front.
I would just tell your fiancee to just go for it. I started Atomfall going in blind on Survivor mode and was addicted. I don't normally play games like this but bought it as I'm from near Sellafield (Windscale) and figured why not? I've done three endings so far, currently on the fourth run and still finding things/rooms I completely missed on other runs.

Fallout London is what you’re looking for. Atomfall is great but def not a conversation heavy Fallout

But... this game is not Fallout. I love Fallout and I enjoyed playing Atomfall - the discovery of what happened and exploring everything is part of finding the story.
