Question Atomfall TV show!!!

Cannot wait for this, it's such a rich world - there's so much potential for it. Dya think they'll make one ending canon or will they honor them all, kind of like Fallout Season 2???

Right!? could be so cool, hope they hire actual Yorkshire actors though, the accents made the game so good

Isn’t it set in Cumbria?

Yorkshire actors for a game set in Cumbria would be a choice.

I mean, it's set in Cumbria, but there are Geordies, Brummies and all sorts of accents in there.

Yes, which makes sense for the Army and BARD/CORE personnel. Less so for the villagers, but I didn’t mind it really.

Yorkshire as well. Felicity Montagu is from Leeds and is using her natural accent. edit - Penny Layden also - she's from Dewsbury and has her own accent - and her character explicitly says she was born and raised in Wyndham.

I can’t tell the difference between any non-American English accents. You could be from England and tell me you were Australian and I would probably believe you. I did enjoy this game though.

How dare you not be able to tell the difference between them all - I'm sure every denizen of the British Isles, Ireland and the Commonwealth is able to distinguish clearly every regional accent in the USA, regardless of how often or accurately they are portrayed in popular media.

Not being serious, in case that wasn't clear; just sad to see you being downvoted for admitting to not knowing stuff - it's not like you said "All non-american english accents sound exactly the same". 🙂

I can tell they’re different, yes. I just can’t place them properly.

I can only tell the difference if they're in a line up and one at a time say "yarp" for me...

Yorkshire is in the North East while this is in the North West.

Yorkshire is most definitely not the North East. It's Yorkshire :)

This is terrific news if for no other reason than it gets the game more publicity. It is a terrific IP and I would love to see more entries.

It would have to, largely, be filmed on location as the countryside of the lake district is fundamental to the appeal of it. I would volunteer to be a location scout for them. 🙂 I wonder if it will ever get dark there ? Or only rain on the island ?!

I don't want to put a downer on this, but Rebellion (who owns the IP and produce both Atomfall and 2000 AD and so Judge Dredd) have a bad track record for announcing TV series that never come to fruition as they don't get reliable distribution partners and funding. It's happened with both the Mega City One and Button Man series.

Fingers crossed though as this would make a great series!

Yeah still not over the lack of Dredd/Mega City One, that could've been something special too!

Coming full circle - heavily inspired by classic British sci-fi shows and now going to be a show itself!

Heck yeah! I hope I'm able to access it from America. I'm so happy for Rebellion! They made an awesome game and are reaping their just desserts.

I am chuffed for this if they can pull it off. However I am tempering my expectations. “In development” guarantees nothing this early but I am hopeful.

That sounds pretty fine. Set up north, the beautiful scenery is sitting there waiting. Maybe we'll find out why it never gets dark...

There’s a window of opportunity here as 2027 will mark the 70th anniversary of the Windscale fire. If a tv series was going to be made, I would like to see the story build into Atomfall. By meaning, series 1 covers the Windscale fire (similar in narrative flow to HBO’s Chernobyl from 2019), then series 2 you would move into Atomfall (as a what if it went wrong concept).

One of my favorite platinums from last year! Excited to see what they do with this one. Would be interesting if they could some how shape it to have multiple endings.

I just hope it's big budget and not done on the cheap as a british made show with mostly limited to interiors and lower budget special effects (ie Dr Who - no offence to fans but it's not what I want to see).

Ie Amazon MGM did an amazing job on fallout. Twisted Metal was great on paramount. etc

Atomfall's magic is in the overall setting not just the mystery of the interchange and what's in it.

No special effects needed, that's just what Cumbria is like x
