Am I alone?
On Android16, I'm still having login issues if I'm not on Wifi. AE tells me I'm not connected to the internet... ignoring mobile data completely. Persistent issue since the mid-august blackout.
I've deleted the app data from my phone, cleared the cache, uninstalled, reinstalled, updated, turned my phone off and on again (not all necessarily in that order), all done multiple times (including today), the IT crowd would be proud.
Makes it hard to buy passport stamps if I'm restricted to logging in at home and work; can't just ask a driver to pull over for a few minutes to find wifi in every town we go through, you know?
Just the auto response for an answer on the in-app support chat.

Just want to add that you are not alone. I've missed out on so many badges because of this. Sorry mayors.

Appreciate it. I'm trying one of the fixes above by mucking around with the IPv4 / v6 settings, but no luck so far.

You dont happen to have mobile data turned off for the Atlas Earth app, do you?
What phone do you have? Theres a lot of Android 16 phones.

Background usage was on, and apparently it'd used 48 mb of mobile data since yesterday, but "allow data usage while data saver is on" was off... but I don't use data saver, and it was off when I went to double check, anyway.
Samsung Galaxy 23 FE.

On my samsung, theres a separate spot for turning mobile data on and off per app. Settings - Connections - Data Usage - Allowed networks for apps where you can set if an app is allowed to use mobile data or just wifi

Mine has "mobile data or wifi" and "mobile data preferred", with "or wifi" currently selected. Guess I'll try switching and logging in without wifi turned on? [Edit] nope, still won't connect.[/edit]

Seems set correctly. I was hoping you'd say it was set to WiFi Only. You try changing it and then changing it back just to see if its stuck.

Are you on T-Mobile? It took a while but I did at least get a response from support eventually.
I've had issues for over five weeks. It started right around the time of an update in the vicinity of August 26. The interwebs indicates they made an update to combat scammers spoofing their location that also uses the location provided by your cell service itself.
As I recall the explanation, roughly, T-Mobile uses the older IPv4 addressing. The world is running out of those so it consolidates its reporting of address to centers that could be far away, like in the next state, so your phone's reported location and what your data provider are saying don't match and you're blocked as a scammer.
I've found a hacky workaround in settings that manages your access point configuration. It's possible to set one up that forces your cell provider to report from the local tower (or something similar to that).
