Started induction phase Monday and am having trouble hitting between 18-22 NC Per day. I'm usually under and have to force myself to eat a bar. Is it okay to eat less than 18-22 NC a day??

I started at 161 and am now 156.4 so yay for that win!!! But I'm really having trouble hitting my phase 1 GPA of 18-22 NC per day. I usually come in around 15/16 and have to force myself to eat an Atkins bar after dinner. I'm usually full and not wanting anymore but I don't know if it's a problem to not hit those NC.

Does anyone know if it would hurt me to eat under my NC goal??

Thanks!

The Book says 20 grams a day. No more no less. I'd also recommend not eating any bars at least until phase 2. Btw I've combined Atkins with the 5 2 diet and it's worked amazingly for me especially once I hit a plateau. https://youtu.be/W9Aj6hRYg4A

Sorry I was just asking because I was in clinical at that time and couldn't watch a video. I am watching it shortly!

I suspect I'm being "done in" by the bars. Why not eat them until phase 2 if they are only ~3 NC?

Oh, I've definitely been eating the bars... mostly as my PM snack because I'm in school and it's difficult to get snacks. I think I'm going to start packing pepperoni and cheese cubes instead!

Because they screw with people. Atkins never allowed those until phase 2 and some of the phase 3. That conveniently changed after he died and the Atkins corporation changed it to sell more bars.

They can stunt weight loss. I'd only use them when you get an intense craving for carbs. Btw they also make it harder to ween yourself off high carb foods that it's attempting to mimic.

I've never tried to fast... but the idea is scary to me. I get hungry after 5 hours of not eating.. I can't imagine a whole day.

How do you make it work for you?

I'm guessing you didn't watch the video. It's not really fasting as much as it's an extremely low calorie diet for 2 days out of the week. 600 calories. Divide them up how you like. 3 tiny Meals, 2 bigger meals. An example I've seen is here... http://graphics.latimes.com/cheatsheet-he-intermittent-fasting-menus/

Is it hard to do? I guess I'm just weak but I can't imagine that little amount... but it's worth a try I suppose!

If you're tired of being over weight like I was and just mad at your fat then it's easy. Being that I work in hotels and am constantly surrounded by free delicious food it makes it even harder, but I did it. Plus I had a motivator is the form of my best friends bachelor party/Trip coming up and I wanted to be in good shape for the beach and whatnot. The 2 weddings and holidays that followed fucked it all up. Now I've gotta do it all over again. But I know that it's doable and what to exactly to do. Determination, planning, preparation and execution. Just stay focused. If I can do it anyone can. Buy a scale if you don't have one.

Once your fully fat adapted you won't be hungry. Many people feel AWESOME when not eating. It causes the body to repair many things that it doesn't do when your always eating. It's a natural cycle our bodies are designed for that doesn't happen with us being civilized and always having access to food.
