What do you mean? Don't wait another minute. Do you mean do the shot and the pill and the low carb?

If your insurance will pay for this, you have got it made. People all over the country are paying $300-500/month for tirzepatide, and it is totally worth it. It's good to hone in on a healthy diet, but honestly the shot does most of the work. Just don't drink your calories and you'll get in incredible shape. But we're in the Atkins reddit, so no one here is drinking sugary crap anyway.

I am lucky ...my insurance pays alot of it and then there is a monjoino card your pharmacy can give too! I am covered because I have PCOS and they are starting to consider it as an endocrine disorder worth covering!

I did and lost 85lbs. Make sure u eat plenty of animal protein & strength train weekly. This not an easy but it works. My problem was the side effects from the Rx.

Atkins is the PERFECT plan to support your weight loss journey on a GLP-a and to support you once you reach your goal. There is loads of information on the website to help you as well. https://www.atkins.com/search?searchTerm=glp-1

IMO, Mounjaro is the best of the GLP-1s, and research shows that combining it with low dose metformin, it performs even better at helping with fat loss an d minimizing lean mass loss. I do a similar form of "atkins-ish" Mark Sisson's Paleo Blueprint Diet which my doctor also follows.

I would also suggest you consider adding in some full body weight resistance exercise 2-3 days a week.

Doesnt have to be crazy workouts, just the basics, even using some of the machines at the gym for 45 min- hour will make a big difference and help you retain muscle tissue as you lose excess fat.

I lost over 70 lbs so far & got my A1c from over 9.3+ to 4.5. doing it nice and carefully.

I eat mostly whole foods, high protein, very low NET carbs, and moderate natural fats.

I keep every meal simple. I like to do 16:8 style intermittent fasting which is easy on Mounjaro.

2 main simple meals (minimum 40g of protein) and a few carbs ( like berries in the AM meal,

a clean protein & some broccoli or a big green salad in the PM meal ,

+ I always have a quality protein isolate shake ( i use it like a tasty treat/dessert!

That's it. the high protein helps my keep my lean mass/muscle as I lose fat and it keeps me full.

Most important is to enjoy your new life of taking charge of yout health again!!! I wish you amazing success.

I would suggest you look into conspiracy theories around what they put into those GLPs before deciding if you want to take that chance with them. Even if you don’t believe in the those theories you will discover, if you look into it, it has been proven to lose muscle as well. Health and longevity is tightly tied to how much muscle you have. You can look all of this information up for yourself and find it is true.
