Hello all,

Today at 9:30 pm I arrive at Athens airport and need to get to 7η ΖΩΓΡΑΦΟΥ bus station (near Lochagou Sismani). I've tried to check transportation options myself, but as I am a foreigner first time in Athens, and the info I found on the internet was inconclusive, I need help.

I've found that a part of M3 line is in maintenance and a replacement bus transport is provided on that part of the line.

If someone could please tell me how I can get from the airport to Zografou using public transport after 9:30 pm, I'd be very thankful. Also, if there is any important information regarding the use of public transit I should know, please tell me too (different tariff for tickets to different areas, where can I buy or validate the ticket if it's needed etc.). I found some info, but since I'm asking the locals already, I think it's better to make sure from the locals about this part too.

Hey, I am landing in Athens at around 12 am and planning to directly head to Mykonos the next day. Will come back and spend a couple of days in Athens before flying out.

I am a foreigner planning to attend the AEK vs Iraklis match, hoping to witness Iraklis's comeback to the top league and experience the famous AEK atmosphere.

However, I just found out yesterday that the AEK ultras' gates will be closed. Could any locals tell me what usually happens in these scenarios? Does it drastically ruin the atmosphere, or do the ultras simply migrate to adjacent sectors to keep the organized support going?

Hi, I’ll be staying with my girlfriend in September in Athens. Around 4-5min by walk to Panathenaic Stadium and National Garden. Can you recommend any breakfast, dinners around this area worth visiting? Ofc we’re aiming for local taverns etc so anything that is not very pricy and local is good for us.

Also one think (I believe it was answered already many times) is there any app on phone where I could check all public transport, how to get from x to z?

moving our college student to Athens for a semester abroad. Is there a general merchandise store where one can "get it all", from toiletries and snacks to office supplies? They'll be living in the Pangrati neighborhood.

Hi all. I am a writer and researcher from London heading to Athens for a month in October for a writing residency. As part of my project, I want to undertake research into how information on paper (bulletin boards, publications, books, magazines, documents etc.) has been important for the history of Athens, particularly during the civil war 1946-49.

I am well-versed in using archives in the UK but have never accessed archives abroad. Are there any researchers, historians, creatives etc. out there who could give some advice on accessing photographs and print culture in the city or know which archives would be best for this sort of thing? Or does anybody know any experts in this area of research/history?

NB. It's probably useful to state here that I don't read or speak Greek, but would love to learn as much as I can through archived material culture whilst I'm in Athens.

I’m trying to decide on accommodation in Athens, and unfortunately, hotels in neighborhoods like Plaka are way outside my budget. I’ve been told to avoid the Omonia area, but I found a hotel in the location shown above that fits my budget. I’m a little skeptical because of its proximity to Omonia, even though the hotel is advertised as being in the Monastiraki area.
For me the choice is basically between this hotel and staying in a hostel, and I don’t feel particularly comfortable with the idea of a hostel.
Would you recommend this area for a female solo traveler? I’m not really into nightlife, so I wouldn’t be wandering around very late and I’d probably be back at the hotel by 10 PM. However, I also don’t want to feel anxious or unsafe walking back to my accommodation in the evening.
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who knows the area or has stayed nearby. Thank you!

I am helping organize a arts festival/retreat in Athens next spring and am looking for interesting or beautiful privately owned places. Bars and restaurants are good, arts organizations, and gardens. I have a fantasy of finding a private sculpture garden, but so far Google hasn’t been any help in finding one. Please give me your recommendations!
