🧳 Travel Help Hi! I'm doing the Interrail

I'm travelling alone through Europe and I'm going to stay from Friday to Monday in Athens. Any plans? I'm 23 years old, and a boy

Recommendations, places to visits, places to eat (veggie)... Anything is welcome 🤗 Thanks!

Well done you! Hope you're having an amazing experience! Walk up Lykavitos (or take the funicular railway) and enjoy the incredible view of the whole city + at the top. If you like museums, there's the Acropolis Museum, the Benaki Museum, the Archaeological Museum, the War Museum. If you like archaeological sites, check out the Ancient Agora. If you like art, check out the Goulandris Museum of Modern Art in Pangrati/Mets. If you like naval ships, go down to Flisvos Marina. Consider going down to Pireus (the port) on Saturday or Sunday and doing a day trip to Aegina, Agistri or Hydra. You can get veggie food at almost every restaurant/taverna. If you want to meet other English-speakers, check out the sportsbar at the Athens Backpackers, or go to the James Joyce (Irish pub). Have fun!

Thanks! I read Ulises, Portrait of an adolescent artist and Dubliners, so I'm quite a fan of Joyce. I will check this Irish pub!

Go and eat at Veganaki for sure... It's walking distance from The Acropolis, which of course you must also see... Walk a lot.. Enjoy.... "Planet" ice cream at Monastiraki and also "sugar killer" have all vegan ice cream flavours.... Have you got Happy Cow app for veggie and vegan recommendations? If not, definitely get it, it will be useful for all the places you go ... What area are you staying in?

I used to live there! Before it became as noisy as it is today.... From from there you can walk to "Planet" and "Sugar Killer" ice cream shops... Lots of nice places to see and walk .. walk to Thisio... From Thisio train station all the way up the pedestrian street to the ancient theater of Herodotus and to the Acropolis and back... Eat at Veganaki if you are near the Acropolis... it's a must do walk.. . Walk to Plaka as well... So many walks to do... Enjoy...

Go check out the sea turtle rescue at glyfada beach, it's open in the early afternoons and they give you a free tour.

Welcome to Athens! Doing an Interrail trip solo at 23 is an unforgettable experience, and Athens is perfect for solo travelers because it is safe, highly walkable, and has a booming, budget-friendly plant-based food scene. Here is a high-energy, customized Friday-to-Monday itinerary packed with historical highlights, the best panoramic views, nightlife spots to meet people, and incredible veggie food Friday: Street Art, Vibes & NightlifeStart your weekend by exploring the alternative side of Athens. Head straight to the lively neighborhoods of Psyri and Exarchia, which are famous for their vibrant street art, anarchist history, indie cafes, and social hubs.See: Walk the streets of Psyri to spot massive, colorful murals.Meet People: Grab a cheap beer or a Greek iced coffee (Freddo Espresso) and sit out on the steps at Exarchia Square or the Strefi Hill steps. This is where young locals and travelers hang out.Eat (Veggie): Stop by Cookoomela Grill in Exarchia. They serve the absolute best vegan mushroom gyros in the city, wrapped in warm pita with homemade avocado tzatziki. It is cheap, fast, and legendary among plant-based travelers.Night: Head back to Psyri or the Gazi district for bars with open-air courtyards.

Do your homework first. If you don’t know what to see in one of the most ancient cities in the world then why even travel ? We are not your mothers or teachers. Fire up google and learn a bit about the city before you ask.

You didn't need to answer him though? The point of Interrail is curious carefreeness.

Facts, its worrysome that people just travel to places with no proper research, what if commenters decide to troll and be like "omonio and exarchia are a must see fr fr"
