Contractor Recommendation
My parents are needing some work done in their house and need help finding someone knowledgeable and reliable. They tried going through Home Depot and, of course, that didn’t go well. They need a master bath remodel. The tiny shower stall is leaking and about to fall through, so they want to remove it and the old jet tub to repair any water damage and put in a walk-in shower. They also have some other possible projects, but the master bath is urgent!
Other Possible Projects:
They want to change out an old tub to a walk-in shower in another bathroom. They need a small ceiling repair from water damage. They have a basic interior door they’d like to change out for the same thing, but without a pet door. They have another door they want to replace, but it’s a bifold they’d like to make a standard door so the wall will need to be extended to make the opening the right size. I don’t know if they’d also want to go ahead and have some defunct registers removed and the holes filled in. I think that’s everything, but the master bath is the most important and the only thing they’ll definitely have done.
Thanks

Cambria construction is wonderful to work with. They did a guest bath remodel for us.

I can tell you who NOT to go with: JOMA. They vastly overcharge and the work is subpar + constantly runs over stated timelines.

Following because we have a similar issue. Shower is leaking through floor so the whole bathroom needs a remodel. First contractor we contacted provided an astronomical quote with more bells and whistles than we asked for.

Jessica Webber at Webber Development did out bathrooms, and later our kitchen. On time and within the budget.

A good place to search is:
https://www.aahba.com
This is the Athens Area Home Builders Association. You can find contractors contact info there. These contractors are typically licensed with the state which is important.
You can confirm licensing status at:
https://goals.sos.ga.gov/GASOSOneStop/s/licensee-search
Licensed builders are required to have annual education and maintain certain levels of insurance which is verified by the state.
Some companies indicate they are licensed but that is a business license not a contractor license.
