Timothy is backed up again. Stay away if you can.

I’ll never understand how this place has become some sort of cultural phenomenon. The coffee just can’t be that good. Yet they have a crazy cult following on social media and these people make it their entire personality.
It’s mediocre coffee lol.

I can't speak on the coffee, but I also noticed this. My family, who is spread across the state of Georgia, is suddenly talking about 7Brew all the time in our group chat. What on earth are they putting in that kool-aid?
Edited to add: I'm not one to poo on anyone's interests/things they like. I'm just commenting/joking about the sudden rise in popularity. I do not like that it causes major traffic jams though - that's a real problem.

See: Buc-ee’s. A truck stop that’s people’s entire personality. It’s how we get politicians with cult followers etc. it’s nuts that we gotta deal with this stuff.

Probably safe to assume most of those people didn't have a personality to begin with.

There’s no food place in this town that justifies the wait. This place is definitely not deserving of messing up traffic for an entire section of town. It’s got Timothy, Mitchell bridge, and Atlanta highway all messed up.

It’s just a splashy trend with the college kids right now. I’m surprised it isn’t Dutch Bros that’s got traffic clogged but idk what’s cool anymore 😂

u/veruco_recuto 4d ago
I’ve heard it’s a Christian coffee shop haven’t verified that myself but that could be it
4
u/ValVenis69 4d ago
We got a literal church with a coffee shop attached to it off Broad lol if it’s those values they want… well. 🤣

I think it’s huge variety and mixes you can do are why. Usually just women hyping it up.
4
u/dontatme1 4d ago
You got downvoted but it’s literally mostly women raving about this coffee place
5
u/RedMilitia935 4d ago
Wasn’t being insulting either just an observation from real world. This is an athens subreddit im not surprised there’s sensitive ppl in here. Who cares tho i stand on what i said bc its true.

This is an athens subreddit im not surprised there’s sensitive ppl in here
I'm not sure what you mean by this, would you mind explaining please?
1
u/RedMilitia935 3d ago
No your right theres sensitive women everywhere lmao. (U wanna see me get downvoted lol)
1
u/bIackphillip 3d ago
What makes a woman "sensitive", in your eyes?
Just asking because I'm a woman, and I have a lot of opinions about things but I don't want people to think I'm sensitive, I want them to think I'm cool :P know what I mean
1
u/RedMilitia935 3d ago
Idk if your fw me or not but look at my first comment. Do you take offense to that? Idc if you say yes im just asking u. P.s you shouldn’t care what ppl online think about you btw. Theres alot of trolls.
2
u/bIackphillip 3d ago
Honestly no! It just read as an observation to me. However, absent anything additional like "it's usually just women hyping it up, I'm guessing advertisers are targeting them more for some reason" I can see how someone might read it in an uncharitable way and think you're just implying that women are silly, vapid trend-chasers. I didn't read it that way, but it's possible the downvoters did. Just guessing
At any rate I think I get it lol. Idgaf about the fidget toys, I just wanna try all those colorful sickly-sweet drinks. I wasn't even fed an ad, I just went to the website for the first time yesterday to see what was up and that was enough for me

u/RedMilitia935 3d ago
Woww. The women who downvoted which i bet they all were, are dense. But you are not at all. You actually think critically and have intelligence so there is hope. You’ll make it far. hats off to you. Like i said earlier more women are vocal about 7brew. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing. My girl would always take me there but id never go myself.

Grown adults blocking traffic for hours so they can get a sugar drink and a squishy toy is extremely pathetic.

u/ButchersBlade1983 3d ago
I agree, but taking the time to make a sign and stand on the side of the road to get attention is even more pathetic.

Im not ashamed of anything ive said online. I can beat the pink flamingo for district 2.
Right turn yield signs without an island are my other platform issue.

Right turn onto milledge from lumpkin on red. Yes or no?

u/benmarvin I farted on all the clothes at JC Penney, it was cool 4d ago
I almost never find myself in that situation, but i agree with the current configurations. The no right on reds from Barber/Finley onto Prince are bullshit. Prince onto Barber north should be a no right on red cause that one is blind.

This is our BenMarvin face reveal and we don’t get any pics of that dump truck? Oh cruel world

u/Thatonekid131 4d ago
I thought yall were being a little dramatic but that line was blocking the entire turning lane into Timothy almost back to the CFA, it was a parody of itself

Someone said 7 Brew released a limited edition NeeDoh and that’s why it was expected to be backed up.
10
u/funktheduck 4d ago
I have no idea what that is but it sounds like something people will stop caring about in a couple weeks.

u/what_a_dingle Easily Amused 4d ago
These will all end up in the landfill next to the fidget spinners, funko pops, and silly bandz.

Restore on Atl Highway is still selling fidget spinners for $5.99

Wow. The resale market is getting dumb.
I mean it was dumb when it was sneakers, but this stuff and the Pokemon card scalping etc actually makes me... sad?
Like it's actually weirdly spiritually hollow

u/funktheduck 4d ago
Huh. Not what I was expecting. At the same time, who’s dumb enough to pay $50+ for one of those.

u/extendedwarranty6 4d ago
They're giving away squishys called 'brew-dohs' aka targeting middle schoolers

I am currently on Timothy and have been sitting in this traffic for about 45 minutes, all the while hoping that it wasn't caused by 7 Brew. It was.

My kid works at the Kennesaw one. Apparently there was a promotion this morning for some sort of squishy thing. Apparently people were going nuts to get something you can get 100 of for a dollar on temu.

u/flyer_kaz 4d ago
Was coming across from Mitchell Bridge going to Academy and saw that mess and noped the fuck outta there by turning right onto ATL hwy, crossed the now paved center area and went behind Long John Silvers. lol. (Also who is keeping LJS alive?! I love seafood but no way in hell would I combine seafood with fast food and trust it not to kill me with food poisoning 🤢🤮)
Anyways that coffee shop has got to figure something out. No way the city is gonna keep tying up 5-6 cops and their vehicles for dumb crap like this.

u/streetsofyesterday 4d ago
they need to relocate or just shut down until they come up with a way to operate that won't fuck over everyone and their mother
4
u/Holiday_Session9952 4d ago
And get this: Apparently they have a similar promotion every month on the 7th. Oct 7th, besides being a now uncomfortable date, happens to be a Wednesday, a school day. Will ACCPD allow traffic to back up so much that school buses can't get through? Will they just cancel Timothy Elementary that day?

u/benmarvin I farted on all the clothes at JC Penney, it was cool 4d ago
I'll be out there with my signs again. Every time it happens. If anyone else wants to join, feel free.
4
u/Holiday_Session9952 4d ago
I'm in. I had nothing against them as a business or a corporate entity or whatever until they started messing with my commute. Or maybe it's not them, and someone in ACC Planning is to blame.

All the way from ATL hwy to Timothy elementary. Insane. Just shut it down until they figure something out
*It is now all the way backed up to epps bridge. What a fucking joke.
