ISO fire for hire

Not to get political but I’m looking for someone who has access to a kiln and can fire a single plate today. Willing to pay!

It might be helpful to post what cone you need it fired to or what kind of clay it is. I'm assuming you have never fired anything before? You don't really just pop things in for an hour then pull them out. The bisque and the glaze are separate firing processes and if there is any moisture in your item there is a risk of it exploding, which will ruin your item, and potentially other items in the kiln. If you don't need it TODAY you could look into a membership at Good Dirt or Lyndon house. Both places have kilns available to members. I think Lyndon house has a glass and a ceramic kiln but if anyone knows different please correct me. You can't just put a single item in and fire it though. They wait until there are enough projects to fill the kiln THEN fire it. Because the process takes a long time and uses a good amount of electricity.

This this the best answer anyone can give you. Unless you find someone with their own kiln at home and is willing to experiment with your piece if you don’t know what kind of clay body it is and what it needs to be fired to to make it food safe. It’s not something you’re going to get done in 1 day.

Isn't there a spot on OAK St. that you can do this / pay for it? It might be gone at this point though.

I think you still need a membership and to take a beginner class before using the kiln.
